id just buy a case(12) and keep cheakin it as u fill it...now like you wont ever use it again

 

Agreed. You do not want to be caught short w/ ATF. And amounts seem to be variable.

 

I used 7qts.

 

From the factory service manual (48re)
Service fill: 4 qts.
overhaul: 29-33 pints

 

Factory service manuals are often times nuts. That's what mine say too. And I'm yet to get away with just putting 4qts of ATF in a Cummins 48re/47re/47rh. I don't understand really. oh well mopars..............:S:
