Steering Update with Free Spin Conversion using F350 Knuckles.

I recently finished my Free Spin Conversion on 94 2500 using 93 Ford Outers and Yukon one piece long side shaft .

I am now ready to tackle the steering , my truck still had the stock inverted Y , which was worn out . I have read up on some of the different upgrades, but it left me with more questions than I previously had .

Any advice?? I’d like to stay away from aftermarket stuff if I can and stick to parts I can source the parts houses.

I don’ mind reaming the knuckles and pitman arm if needed.

The easy way is get an aftermarket "T" style kits that use thick wall tubing and off the shelf GM tie rods on all the ends for the adjustments. The GM rod ends are beefy. You'll need to ream to match the tapers.

If you want 100% off the shelf parts...I researched this years ago after i bought some Ford hubs and knuckles, even talking to Moogs tech line about interchange info, but i never went through with it. If I remember right, I think the 08.5+Dodge stuff might work with the Ford knuckles. The 4th gen Dodge tie rod is the correct taper angle and close enough in diameter for the Ford knuckles, which I believe is a larger taper diameter than the 2nd gen Dodges. The 08.5 tie rod needs to be trimmed a little inside the adjuster to make the length right on a 2nd gen axle. There's write ups on the 4th gen steering swap you can look at for referenece.

Thanks for the reply!

I’m familiar with the GM stuff , but I’m wanting a T-style setup to avoid custom work on the passenger side knuckle for “crossover” .

I will search for the 4th gen swap again thanks!

Stock dodge tie rods will work, taper is the same.

However the thickness is different so you will need to use a washer or taller castle nut for the cotter pin to engage

You could also get a OEM style self locking nut. Just remember they are not reusable because theres no cotter pin.
