Hey guys. Last night I installed my new downpipe, 4" straightpipe, and my stackit from Grandrock with 36" 6" dia. miter cut stacks. The tips of the stack are about 6" over the top of the cab. I drove a lil over 140 miles today and the tips of the stacks had turned blue. I was able to wipe off the blue color though. Will they indeffinitely turn blue at the top or what? Thanks.

I put a miter where the exhaust normally comes out (behind the back tire) and I screwed up and cut it too short so it is about 2" inside of the body and it is about 1/2" too high so it puts all kinds of black crap all over that side of the body, I think it looks neat though lol.

We have had a few people call us with the "blue" stack question. Usually it wipes off, and it's just the soot giving it a "blueish" tint. If the stack actually turned blue, you would'nt be able to wipe it off. If that did happen, you would need to call us here at Grand Rock right away. We have a 1 year warrenty, from date of installation with our Chrome, and will exchange the bad stacks for good ones. Just an FYI, I can count on one hand the amount of times we've had warrenty issues with our chrome failing since I've been here with the company...it's less then 5. And for cleaning the stacks, we use Windex, cleans them well, and gives it a nice shine. You can use a chrome polish, MAKE SURE it's non-abrasive! You don't want to scratch the chrome.

WOW, I got it right the first time. I use windex also. The black just wipes off and it si nice and clean...

Thanks Josh!

On the blue thing, if the stack did turn blue then it would be a result of a very lean condition that overheats the chrome...

Thanks guys. Concerning the overheating of the pipes-yes the greatest temp is near the cylinder but the blue on pipes (open headers, motorcyle pipes, ect) is from the heat and then the rapid cooling by the wind hitting them. The blue whiped off so I'm not so worried now, lol. Again, thanks for the input guys.

I wish I could get the tip of my miter to turn blue, the heated blue color, I think that is awesome. Except the coal would cover it... When I put it on I buffed the inside of it because it was a little rusty, did a quick trip about 2 miles worth and got some smoke going a little, got back, thing was completely black...I didn't think it would happen that quick.
