Hey everyone, I have a dodge ram 5500 2016 that i hooked up a trailer to and now wipers won't turn off, spray for wipers doesnt work, horn doesn't work, no turn signals, no brights, no radio, and the traction control light is on but the hvac works, break lights work. Tried disconecting battery and reconnedcting = nothing, tried disconnecting battery and fuse box and reconnecting =nothing, checked all small fuses= all work. Can someone give me some advice what could be causing this?

So i think something may have shorted out but uncertain where. I was exchanging the connector for the trailer attachment on the truck and placed the ground as was instructed and then reconnected the trailer and thats when all this happened. I replaced connector because the connector had areas that the wires had fried slightly. I checked all fuses and they were fine. Checking relays currently. Any other thoughts?

Chryslers have notoriously finicky BCMs, unhook or undo any trailer wiring changes you did, and try unhooking the batteries for a while and try to reset everything....then Start over if it works with your trailer stuff....double and triple check any changes!

This post literally saved my a$$. 10 hrs from home on a Sunday with winter storm bearing down. Driving down the road dash info went crazy, cruise control quit, wipers came on and wouldn’t stop, all the brake alarms came on, headlights worked on low beam only and no turn signals. When I pulled over and put it in park transmission locked. Turned it off to try to reset and that was the end- truck was dead. Found this post (after 4hrs while waiting for someone to bring me a new alternator and batteries). Looked under the dash, plugged in the connector and BOOM back on the road!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting!!!

I had same problem today. 2010 3500 Laramie. Remote started the truck and got in a few minutes later. Turned the key on and had same issues, wipers, gauges, etc. Found this discussion so was checking connections. Reached up to the rear of brake controller and felt water! Not just damp but wet! I sealed sunroof with silicone earlier this year and headliner doesn't feel wet so I'm not sure where the water came from.
I put a small space heater in the footwell to dry it out. Hopefully something isn't fried. I guess we'll see.
