Hello Everyone, ive been lurking on this forum for a while now and i wanted to get everyones input on how to fix my truck.

Currently Getting a 216 Code on my truck

ONLY on start up I get the dead pedal, I can press as hard I want on the pedal and ill get zero acceleration, after a couple of miles this clears up and the truck works without a single hesitation, Other times on start up the truck will work (rarely) without any dead pedal symptoms.

Also noticing at times very rarely though that I have dead spots on the highway ex: can be cruising at 50 MPH and ill go to press on the accelerator and it wont accelerate right away, mash down the pedal a couple of times everything clears up and the truck goes back to "normal"

I have records on the truck that the lift pump was replaced by the P/O in 2012

Do-Not have a fuel pressure gauge!!!!!

Seeing as the problem is intermittent and clears up after a couple of miles I would like some input from you guys on this forum before I start throwing money at this problem replacing components that are still functional.

Sounds like a VP44 is in your future. You COULD try a TIMBO APPS, (Which should have come stock), but you will probably need a new IP.
What do you have for a lift pump?

Test the fuel pressure and report back. What lift pump is on it? Sounds like a VP or APPS
You beat me ED......

You can look at the truck and know that the lift pump is in stock location. Parts stores have fuel injection testers for rent that will give you idle pressure at least. The 01 FSM is available for download.

Regardless of current problem, you need a fuel system and gauges.

If it has a replacement from the dealer it could be in the tank as well

I'm having the same exact problems, I have a PPE 160 lift pump, (don't have a gauge, don't know what pressure, iI find out as soon as possible) i just recently replaced the throttle position sensor and got the computer flashed, but still having the problems.. the truck only has 107k miles...

Skip the warning light and get a good gauge. Warning lights typically come on way too late. Now ISSPro EV2's have programmable warning lights if you really need it.

Timbo APPS has no electronics like the OE APPS does.

Limp mode is cause by either a sensor going out of range typically throwing a error code. But it could also be the ECM failing too kind of like a limited throttle.
