thanks. its something that gets taking used to. but i came from a 97 k2500 winter beater with sealed beams and its comparable to that. i have a set of HID i am going to install but they have also been in the back seat for 3 months so could say its not a huge deal

the difference between 50 and 35 is hard to feel out. big part of it is the darkness of the side windows. co worker has same 35 windshield as mine but with 20 on the side and you can still see in the truck vs mine you cannot. but 5 on the side with 50 up front may give that same appearance. really just a matter of preference and what you are comfortable with.
In regards to your windshield, is there a white line where dot matrix is?

Do you mind sharing a close up picture?[/QUOTE]

i will get a better picture after work. there is no white line. the entire windshield is one whole piece of tint.

Thanks for the confirmation. The tint shop that I called only offers 30 and 50 percent.

I between the two...I'll probably go with 50.

One other question I had, when yall had your windshield tinted, did they tint around the rear view mirror or did they have to take it off?
mine goes around but is inside the blacked out area. ill also get pic

A tinted windshield could be replicated by driving at night with sunglasses on.
But at least you can take the sunglasses off instantly.

I've been tempted to tint my windshield just for the heat protection but would also like to darken the interior as well. I can never decide what percentage to do, I was thinking 60 or 70% but still not sure how that would do at night.

70% at night will be perfectly fine on the windshield - I wouldn't recommend any less than 50% - they also make UV films which are practically clear nowadays and actually reject about 40-50% of the heat (and are CLEAR) - If I was tinting a windshield I'd be looking at the lightest shade I could that cut a little glare out, but nothing dark (maybe unless I lived in Florida)

I have just the eyebrow strip in 5% -

But definitely upgrade the headlights as the Ram setup is WEAK, and with a film on the windshield it makes night driving even worse.

I the have 5% eyebrow already, so just want to add to that at this point. Wish it was easy to test out different shades. As far as upgrading headlights go I am finishing up a set of projectors housings with HIDs.

Anyone recently tinted their whole windshield? My truck has sensitive wipers and auto dimming brights.

Wondering if any had any issues with it and if the tint is able to adhere over the dot matrix. I do not want any visible white lines.

I'm thinking about going with 35% tint....I'm also aware of the stste laws as well.

Thanks
Don't do it. I live in South Florida and I know about the heat and the glare from the Sun.

I also can tell you that, with window tint, it can be hard, REALLY hard to see at night. Especially when taking turns. In fact, I sometimes have to roll my side window(s) down when coming out of a drive so I don't end up in a ditch making the turn.

I put a fairly wide strip near the top of my windshield on every vehicle I've ever owned down here and it works well.

I could edit my other post, but - Not.

Also, there's interior glare that will reflect onto the tinted windows from dash lights, etc.

I have to turn my dash lights down pretty low to keep it from reflecting off the side windows.

Florida cuts people a lot of slack when it comes to tinted windows, but if they catch you with a tinted windshield at night, they'll make you park it and they'll tow it in.

I just think it's a bad idea. Maybe because I don't know of ANYONE that's ever done it. And this is the tinted-window capital of the known Universe.

YMMV

What percentage tint is that? I hate that there is no way to get rid of the ring where the gradient dots are.

35% windshield and 5% all around

Thanks for taking the picture. Do you think if I tint around the line, it will not be as pronounced?

I don't like seeing the separation line.

I think tinting around the round would look worse IMO. It would also be more time consuming and difficult.

its really or as bad as it seems. im a very detail oriented person and doesnt bother me. to anyone else they are like damn his windshield is dark and doesnt notice anything

I have a 4% ceramic sunstrip 12" down. Thinking about doing a 50% or 35% windshield with the sun strip. The rest of the truck is 4%

Need to upgrade to HID's first. It's sad that a $70,000 that was made in 2018 has worse lighting than my wife's in upgraded 2004.

This weekend it goes in for windshield tint. Shop only offers 50 and 30%...I'm thinking I'm going to do 30%.

Is there much difference between 35 and 30?

I don't know why so many complain about the lighting on the ram projectors....they seem fine to me?
