Ok I said I was going to leave this truck alone and I don't think I can lol. Just wondering if anyone's got a deleted c&c and what thy used. Been looking at the race me tuner and the ez Lynk and was just curious.

I just completed mine. I only did a tow tune though (50hp). I went through Anarchy diesel. They were very helpful and my truck is soooooooo much better now. Beware, C+C are harder to delete and tune. The DPF systems are different than the 3500 pick up trucks. The EGRs are different. The AISIN does not like modifications as the TCM has torque limiting parameters that will de-fuel the truck to protect the transmission. No one offers the software to unlock the TCM on C+C transmissions. I would not go any higher than a tow tune IMHO. I did a "stealth" delete on my truck. Everything appears bone stock to the naked eye. All wiring harnesses are in tact and plugged in. The DPF system appears in tact and all sensors plugged in. The EGR appears in tact and all sensors plugged in. I have to be able to pass a DOT visual inspection.

Chris, if you don't mind, could you please elaborate a little on the increased performance (and hopefully mileage) now that you probably have a few miles on the delete?

I'm really on the fence here and may buy a 3500 pickup to get some sort of performance.
Currently, it used 10 gallons of DEF in its first 2,500 miles, and the mileage is creeping down to an average of 10.
That's about 50/50 empty and towing up to 8,000 lbs.

The dismal mileage would be okay if it ran like it consumes fuel, but to pass someone from 65 mph takes the better part of a mile.
I even checked if by any chance 3/4 of the air filter was still in its wrapper.

Combined with the water pump fiasco and a rear axle that's still producing lots of debris after 4,000 miles, I'm starting to lose faith in this C&C.

Oh, today I was told by a dealer to "bring it in for repairs". What would you repair, I asked, since nothing appears to be broken yet. He couldn't answer.
I said that I'd like to know if there's a new flash for it, and he said no. Cancelled the appointment.
Don't really feel like wasting a full day going to a dealer some 150 miles away , for nothing.

However, if a delete can perk this little pig up, I'm ready to toss the warranty out the window. According to the dealer, the "repairs" to this one year old vehicle with just over 4,000 miles on it wouldn't be covered anyway.

Yes the DPF is gutted. The front DPF canister can be drilled and chiseled out. The back DPF had to be cut open and cleared out. I simply removed the heat shield on the back DPF canister, cut the canister open on the factory weld, cleared the ceramic cakes, re-welded the canister back together, and re-installed the heat shield with large stainless hose/duct clamps to cover up my "non-factory"weld. Place the hose clamp screw tensioners at the top so they cannot be seen during inspecting and they will appear factory.

Just an FYI, the rear canister can still be drilled out without cutting and rewelding. I used a long hexagon rod, about four feet, and then hammered one end into a spade then put it in the drill and went to town removing the guts.

My 2010 is fully deleted with 5” TBE and it runs awesome. Anarchy diesel hooked me up solid. Mines a 6spd manual so no issues

Ok trucks deleted and runs so much better! I went with ppei tunes on the ez Lynk tuner, also had to go 5" on the exhaust because that's all that flo pro offers for the C&C's which I'd imagine there's a reason behind it, tunes are clean clean clean not an ounce of smoke which I'm really surprised. Love the truck even more now!

On my 2017 C&C truck, the Active Air box would constantly cycle back and forth and you could physically feel the power delivery change when it was transitioning back and forth like it was restricting air flow. I removed the blade from the stem on the actuator arm then removed the rest of mechanism from the air box. Increased my fuel mileage a mile to the gallon and never felt the power loss again. My 2017 was box stock.

Pull the complete air box out then take the motor that controls the flapper off the air box. Pull the stem out front facing flapper and reinstall the electric motor and plug it back in so it does not throw a code.

I'm not sure what year Ram started using the Active Air system but it's a gimmick IMO.

I just wanted to do 4" turbo back but all I could find was flo pro's 5" for the cab and chassis, it fit perfect over the axle and all. Just had to cut to length for the 60" Ca I have. My ppei tunes I must say are clean clean clean, is running the 180hp tune now and not a single bit of smoke I still can't believe it.

Hey Chris, im close to pulling the trigger on DPF delete/ electronic egr disable and tow tune on my 2018 4500 cab and chassis.

Couple questions if you dont mind me picking your brain........ I tow a gooseneck loaded
17,000-17,500 lbs. 99% of the time. Can you switch back and fourth from stock tune to the Anarchy tow tune? Im wondering what stock tune max EGTs are when loaded heavy compared to max EGTs with Anarchy tow tune.

Second, any reason you went with the Edge platform vs the MM3. I really like the MM3 platform over the Edge but I really dont know all of the pros and cons of both.

I just got the MM3 and waiting for the exhaust to show up. After being recommended, I bought from Diesel Performance of Texas, who seems to be willing to work with customers that have problems.

Not crazy about the idea of a 5-inch exhaust, but for now it'll have to do. Shouldn't be hard to make a quiet 4-inch with all the parts that are out there.

I'll post my results once it's all done. And in this case, it would take extremely bad luck to end up with worse performance and fuel economy than what this 3500 currently has.

I think they only make the 5” because the C&C already has a 5” off the turbo.

A 4” would be a downgrade

Im going the delete pipe route with a flo pro DPF delete pipe and SCR delete pipe. Same or more money than full 5” exhaust system but im trying to maintain somewhat stock appearance as to not attract attention from the Feds

Good question. People like noise and less space around the exhaust?
Anyway, I measured mine today and it's indeed a 4-inch down pipe.
Guess I'll piece together a 4-inch system, with a 5-inch Donaldson muffler.

Anyone want to buy a 5-inch setup with muffler, still in the box?

From what I notice on mines the stock down pipe is 4” but it has a flat/ smash part on it guessing for clearance so that would make it come to 3.5” at that area so the after market one it a true 4” down pipe
Yeah, I'm not crazy about that flattened section, but on the other hand, I do like the flex portion the stock down pipe has. Of course, it'd be easy enough to add one to any down pipe.

Just keep the 5" system and add a 17" long FTE resonator. You'll have no drone at all.
That would be nice, scj64. I suppose I should try the 5-inch as delivered and see (hear) what happens first. When you say to add an FTE resonator, it would go before the muffler, right?

I really need to remember where I put the left over mufflers and pipes from the Pete. That's all 5-inch stuff and could be useful in this application.
Of course, its 5-inch system is also the reason I don't think that an engine with roughly half the displacement needs more than a 4-inch exhaust.

@ faithsdad . The unit came originally from road Ready Performance whom tuned it. I have since been getting alot of help from Diesel Performance of Texas who sent me new tunes . They have been a big help so far. His tunes are much snappier no more lag and chattering in the cabmore pleasurable to enjoy. Will keep everyone posted as far as burping and shutdowns if and when they occour

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to hearing how you make out with DPOTX sounds promising.

Do you happen to have an email for them? Could not find on thier website...........

Seems like they offer performance tuning for the Cab & Chassis also

I almost settled on Double R Diesel but it looks like they are only offering delete tuning for c&c but no power upgrades..... Wonder if its cause they are new at the C&C tuning.
