This is interesting yet amusing... i still wanna know what the best 24-valve injector is.. oh wait.. i forgot to search.. my bad!... LOL

Injector Class

Ok Guys. Lets be nice, we all live in a "politically Corrct World " now :drool2:. Really enjoying the banter and mud slinging :hehe: But, what I am really getting is a class on "Nozzles or Injectors".:stirpot: Both terms are used interchangeably, and I understand the newer 'HIGN psi COMMON rail" designs are electronically contrlled, even use "Multiple injector pulses to clean up emissions and lower noise" but we are in the 12 Valve forum with P7100 pumps. The Fuel pump controlls the injection from the nozzle and the Nozle orifices control the spray pattern. :agree2: Soo, what inquiring minds want to know is, how can I tune up my 96 12v 47re 2wd at a reasonable cost :confused013: and, can I safely increase fuel flow (power) buy purchasing a new set of Nozzles?:party018: IF I can simply purchase new nozzles, where do you suggest purchasing them. I got upset that I purchased a new ( in Cummins Box) oil pump ( 24 valve pump) to install in my 12v ( INstalled KDP, was mia with a wiped cover - jb weld crank sensor hole) and the pump says in bold MADE IN CHINA :S:. Bosch makes good stuff, :flag: so, if I can get some quality American Made Bosch nozzles, I would love too.:blues:

On a side note, we refer to Nozzles and spray patterns in Turbine engines, weather they are axial or centrifigal flow as they continuosly flow fuel - kerosene/diesel/jp 4 etc. deisel comression , just the cycle is seperated by stages instead of revolutions.:party018: They are DUMB :rof

That nozzle is not on my list, but the injector assembly number is #0432133775.
the assembly number i have is a 0 432 133 781 what "list" do you have for hole count and size??

cummins parts are made in india... and alot of dodges are made in mexico... so what if its not american made? all thats gonna do is make a $15 part cost $500 if everything made outside of america is junk then why do we still buy from them? did you know everything ford makes in brazil has a cummins in it? they dont meet emissions here, thats the only reason everyone in their mom doesnt have a Fummins...

ps...sorry not everything ford makes has cummins... the ranger has a 3.0L 4cyl commonrail turbo diesel in it... and theyve had that as long as theyve been making powerjokes in the good ole USA

first off... the cummins 5.9 12 and 24v does not have injectors... their called nozzles. the only engines with injectors are the powerstroke, duramax and commonrail cummins...

i dont really know what your asking but i know everyones "stage I, II, III" is different... a 370 nozzle is the right way to say it... that is 370 total horsepower, when someone says i have 100hp "injectors" that means 100hp over what you already had which isnt accurate.. say i had a 180hp truck and i got 100hp "injectors" do i have 280hp? if i had a 215 engine do i then have 315hp? its probably averaged, im not sure... i buy nozzles from bosch by part number... they run about 15-20 dollars each and i drill out the filter from the holders... idk why people buy "140hp" nozzles for $900...
And I dont have glow plugs either..........

Oh wait I dont.

FINALLY I found part numbers for these injector assemblies.

I called up my local cummins shop. The tech told me he can build anything I want. He asked me where my job site was and offered to have my injectors picked up for servicing. Freaking awesome, cummins. The catch was that he could only duplicate what I gave him or build what I asked for IF I gave him the info off the engine data plate OR the numbers on the injector body. The tips/nozzles are $34 each, the rebuild and setting the pop was $35 each, using my bodies. It would only take one day. But I could NOT ask for "marine 370s" or "5x12s" or even "5x0.012". He had nothing to measure orifice size nor labeled applications. I was all done by part numbers. I was talking to Bertram owners. Those are boats powered by p-pumped 6bt motors anywhere from 270hp, 300hp, 330hp to 370hp. I could use the info from their engine data tags and the cummins shop would inadvertantly sell/build me 370hp marine injectors.

Btw, I just bought Bosch injector assemblies, brand new in box, for less than $70 each. The price for the reman and new tips would be the same price. At least I can go back to stock if I need to. I'll post pics and numbers as soon as I get them from the UPS guy. They are Supposed to be genuine Bosch, not boschineses. As long as I use a 0.020" sealin washer or thiner and keep my timing low (currently stock), it'll be spraying in the bowl.

Also, sac tips smoke more than vco. Vco are also known as sac-less nozzles. Vco means "valve covered opening". So when the injector is closed, the orifices are sealed by the pintle. On the sac-type, there is a chamber which holds residual fuel inside the tip. This burns off and contributes to heat and smoke As an incomplete burn. Newer diesel engines all use vco/sac-less tips for emissions-control reasons. This is how you can make smoke-free power... Or so i've been told.

No, they don't. The CR nozzle alterations have involved going to a Sac type nozzle in the 6.7L, the first time this has happened in an on road Cummins application. And decreasing the needle diameter from 4mm to 3.5mm increases the pressure capability up to 1800BAR. The idle haze rumor of a Sac type nozzle is just that, it can be controlled by the design of the pintle. And altering the installed height of the injector 0.020" is ~ 1° in spray pattern contact.

well then can you tell me what a dsla152 p830 is?

soo 700hp on stock turbo and injectors......and you "love your cummings". please go outside right now, read the side of your truck, then come back in, and change your sig. hopefully your just joking

I've seen different injectors in different applications, not always fitting. DSLA 152 P820 is a stock SO nozzle 7x0.008".
The SO nozzle is a smaller orifice than the HO nozzles? What are the SO motors rated for, powerwise?
