Thinking about doing a coolant change in mu 01 but not sure what coolant is best to use in it. Also wondering how much coolant it takes. Thanks

True... But if you going to change type of coolant make sure to flush the system out fully before changing. Less likely of issues if it flushed out.

Yea if it's like 90% of trucks out there it's typical green or the Mopar orange though coolant color is pointless need to know the type of cool, as mixing isn't the best.

I typically refill with what was in it, though after my oil cooler leak and bad radiator I ran water and oil purge for a bit then refilled with power cool from Detroit since I get it cheap

Regular green unmixed then mix it yourself is cheapest. Depending on how your tap water is I wouldn't even bother with distilled personally. If you have a lot of minerals in your water though then it wouldn't be a good idea. Well water around these parts is excellent, so I never worry much about it.

Been using "creek water" and "well water" for the life of my truck and never had one issue with the cooling system yet. I've been documenting all my coolant flushes. I've never use distilled water in my truck except for the factory fill when I bought it.

255k miles and 14 year later... Still looking good...

I always hand mix all my coolant. I've used green and yellow coolants.

Here is where all my irrigation water comes from.
