Howdy, hoping to get some clarification on the wiring and hopefully help someone later down the road, found lots of information but still confused on a few points.

Fuel shutoff solenoid- I understand it's as basic as 12v to a switch, but is it the lack of 12v or the supply that kills the engine

Fuel shutoff q2- how does the wiring work when starting? My assumption is it should have 12v feed in the run position but where would it get power from during cranking?

Starter- I see two wires one big and one smaller on the starter. Usually when I see this it's power feed and signal, my truck has another solenoid on the fender that feeds the signal. Could this be swapped out with a 40a 5pin relay?

Usually I would test this shenanigans on my own but my wiring and engine are currently torn apart. Thank you.

I call it a fuel SUPPLY solenoid for this reason.

I forget which is which, but IC and non-IC behave opposite.

To be clear, the KSB imparts a couple degrees timing advance. Some people rig them up for function outside of cold-starting.
