looking to upgrade my truck, I have 02 H.O. 5.9 with 120k miles....my plans are street truck/DD and overall goal is 600hp I know I cant get crazy hp out of a vp truck and im sure 600hp can still be reliable right? so what list of mods would put me there??? im gonna get a single for now then twin it later with ppump maby!

It'll be tough to get 600 to the wheels with your HO pump unless you spray. They just don't fuel up top as the SO pumps do. That said- Questions like yours are brought up a few times a week and there are multiple threads regarding turbo/injector setups single and compound. Hit up a search and also check out the dyno sticky for what part combos lay out what power.

I'm not turning your question down or reframing from answering it. There are just far to many threads of the same topic and valuable information is all thru out many of them.

my goals for high HP change once I realized you can get way more power out of a common rail...so im gonna keep this truck around 500-600 but extremely reliable, but not sure what would be a good setup for that, a 62mm seems a lil small unless I twin it, so ill probably go with 64/71/14 or 63/68/14 keep in mind I have a 6 speed so I don't want a lot of lag!!

ok it seems like the 62/475 is the way to go!! but i have a few important questions!!! will my HO pump handle that (the SO pump is the way to go i know) and what HP numbers should i expect? some people are saying up to 650 but isn't that the max the vp44 will handle....i don't wanna have the pump maxed out all the time i want it to be a lil more reliable? this is my first setup sorry

I've read right around 550 max on an HO VP and 600 or so on an SO VP.

If you're looking for reliability at that point, p-pump swap and be done with it.
