Time Delay Relay And Dome Lights?

Hey Guys,

When I bought my truck I put a new bulb in the dome light and then noticed it never goes off. I just took the bulb out and called it a day.

However, when I got out of my truck tonight the map lights came on and I couldn't turn them off. Closed the door and locked the truck and came back 10 minutes later and they were still on. So I decided to investigate.

Saw the "Time Delay Relay" in the fuse box, was EXTREMELY hot, so I pulled it out with some pliers. I took it apart and noticed two pieces had broken off inside of it.

Anyways, with the relay pulled, the dome light was still on. Isn't this relay supposed to control that light? Or will a fail/removed relay leave the lights on? Anyone know how these work or have a wiring diagram?

Thanks!!

Probably the plungers where the door closes

The door plungers are good, checked both. Also replaced the "Time Delay Relay".

What I really need is s wiring diagram! Anyone have one?

Hey Guys, I still have been unable to figure out why the hell the dome lights will not go off. I checked both door switches and they are functioning 100%. I have replaced the time delay relay, with no affect.

Anyone had this problem or have a wiring diagram?

just to clarify, the time delay relay has NOTHING to do with your domelights, it's for the lighted ring around the ignition lock cylinder and nothing else. just didn't want anyone else chasing their tail with the delay relay.
