I've got an 05 2500. I'm hearing a squeaking noise that has me perplexed. It sounds similar to an idler pulling bearing that's gone bad - sort of a high pitched squeaky noise.
The sound comes from underneath the truck, right around the oil pan/transmission area. It's very loud and noticable when i first start the truck and it's in neutral. As soon as i put it in gear and put the engine under load, it will go away. If i come to a stop, it'll come back, but it's faint.
There is no performance difference in the truck that i can tell of. It is most definitely not coming from the belt area of the engine - it's loudest underneath the truck.
Any ideas where i should start looking?
