I think I know the answer but is it ok to run T5 in my 2018 3500 even though I've only put T6 in it? I can't find T6 in three one gallon jugs. I can get 2.5 gallons but then I'd have 2 gallons left over. Don't wanna mess with that. Walmart wants $55 for one gallon of T6 which is price gouging to the fullest. I'm just gonna run T5 is I'm cool with doing that.

T4, T5, T6... it really doesn't matter but some make you "feel" better so...

There are other full synthetics you can use too if you can't find T6. I del Chevron offerings pretty regularly where T6 is always gone.
I think a large majority of people use synthetic because they believe it's better. Not because they live where the below 0° temps dictate it.

And yet they don’t even “recommend” it for 4th or 4.5 gens. And there’s a lot of engines that have outlived their trucks that run Dino oil.
Better, sure. So you can get 600k out of an engine rather than 500k, when either way the truck will likely be on its 7th owner and a steaming pile of junk by then?
Cost benefit ratio.

Maybe not cost effective, but I run synthetic in several vehicles that doesn't call for it.

Basically, it turns into "time effective" when a vehicle actually starts when it's -10 or -20, largely thanks to that the engine turns over much easier. If things then also get better lubrication, that's icing (no pun intended) on the cake.
