So I was just told by a guy that I phoned for the price of a s466 on a second gen mani, that my truck would not spool an s466 very good, and it'd be laggy and a terrible street turbo. He told me an s366 would be better. Now I'd like somebody to tell me what they think my truck would do with an s466. All it has is deletes and a mini max. Be nice to hear some first hand experience if there is anybody with any. He did so he doesn't know alot about 6.7L's so that made me decide to get a second opinion lol thanks

If u were driving a 5.9 he would be right the 6.7 will spool a 472 with just what you have done. hope this helps

Several guys on here running either a s466 or s472. Some on stock fueling. Powerstrokedub has a 472, stock fuel, and at an elevation of 4400 ft give or take. I think he said a little laggy.

If you want to stay with stock fuel I'd invest in a s366.

If your willing to upgrade fuel then, from what I've read, I wouldn't underestimate a s466!!

Well, what I want is a turbo that if I want to add hp, I can with it, and if I don't want to add anymore hp, that it will be perfectly daily drivable.

I'd go with a 366 then, you can add fuel to it if you want or run it on stock fuel. The 466 will make more power reliably at higher levels but if your not gonna be at the track or sled pullin then the 366 seems to be a better option, at least that's what's been reccomended to me by several 6.7 guys

It also depends on what HP your wanting to make. I'm only wanting 600-650 outta my dually. So a 366 will get the job done an handle more if I want it.

alot of its in the tunning first thing i would do is switch to efi the 466 will spool alot better with a set of 120's or so but you can tune alot of the lag out with efi if your gona stay with stock fuel for a while if you don't plan on adding fuel down the road i would go with the 366

Dave Matthews on here does mcc tuning for h&s that would be an option as being that you already have a mini max. I agree with alot of guys on here 466 if you want the option to add more power later and the 366 if you could be happy with the power of it. I have efi live a 467/83/91 and 50% over nozzles (100hp) and it is extremely drivable along with a great towing rig. I tow a 15,000 lbs fifth wheel.I travel around an elevation of 1000ft basically sea level. Larger single turbos effect guys that are at higher elevations with more lag smoke and higher egt. Im not sure where you live but i have no problems with mine.

I had a billett Fleece S466/83/.91 on my truck for a while, I had issues with getting it lit up here at high altitude. I couldn't get it over 40 psi most of the time. It ran well back home(2000' elevation) could manage 52psi of boost there. I could see how these things run better at lower altitudes.

The S466 uses a larger turbine wheel 83mm while the S366 uses the smaller 74mm wheel (the Borg Warner box S366) the 83mm will take a little more to light but he was wrong. You can DD an S466 all day long and tow if you have the tranny modded

Actually its not that much of a difference in turbine size. S3 vs S4 size classification is backwards. An S3 73mm Turbine is the exducer dimension, on an S4 the 83mm number is the inducer.

Comparing the two on the same level, the S3 turbine is a 73mm Exducer, while the S4 is a 74mm. There is a 3mm Difference on the inducer.

The biggest difference of the S400 is the weight, its a heavy shaft and typically a larger exducer on the compressor. It may spool a touch slower than its comparable S300 counterpart, but its going to be "smoother" coming on and more "forgiving" street driving.

i hear ya bro i don't have the money to do everything in one shot doin studs this weekend then i'll start collecting parts and hopefully next summer a SC comp68 then do a mass install of my acrued parts i had a local guy not mentioning any names i'm sure you can figure out who giving the same advise that was given to the op wich would be fine if we were talking about a 5.9 lol so that was the end of that conversation

I've had my Fleece Billet 466 on for a while and am very happy with it. With my fuel it spools incredibly quick and is a great DD as well as a tow pig. But I'm not sure how it would do with no fuel, you might be better off with a S300 charger.

Is rather have the reliability of the larger frame 400 over the smaller 300 even if you plan to never sled pull or drag race we all know every1 gets on it sometimes

There has been a number of large single S400's breaking (exploding) the compressor wheels compared to the S300's. Not sure why and most are on trucks without nitrous and on 5.9 trucks...weird.

Stock fuel with smarty its very laggy down low
Stock fuel with H&S Aggressive turbo tune, drivable
Stock fuel EFI, drivable

I have a Bullseye batmo 466/83/1.0 with polished race cover and steed speed manifold along with EFI tuned by Dave Mathews and I love it. I dare say it spools as fast as a stock turbo. Tows really well.. so far the heaviest I have towed is a 20ft horse trailer with four horses in it. I never saw over 1200 degrees on flat highway and 1400 degrees up hill.

The best part about is at WOT. Hold on

I am sure as long theayeman's a/r is .90 or 1.0 he won't have much for drive pressure issues with that much fuel, I've got dual cp3 coming, I am going to start gearing up for a S366/S480 twin setup.........
