Replacing the front pinion seal

My front pinion seal is leaking. Not too bad, but enough to coat the front diff in dirt.
Is this an overly involved process to replace?
All I need to do is disconnect the driveshaft, and pull the seal right?
Will I need any special tools from dodge that I can't buy at harbor freight and throw away?

Obviously you'll want to undo the front driveshaft at the pinion flange (Four T40 Torx bits), and from that point you use a 1 1/4" socket (or 32MM, either or) to undo the flange nut. You will need a puller for the flange and there is indeed a special puller made for this BUT its not necessary. You can use a 2 or 3-Jaw Puller to remove the flange. It is on there pretty tight, probably from a mix of parts tolerances and the white teflon sealer used on the splines, but it will come off with enough force. From there, just pop the seal out, install the new one, put the flange and driveshaft back on and away you go! I work at a Dodge dealer so I've done several of them, and its a pretty easy repair to do.

Hope that helps, and good luck!
