ya i still have the exhaust elbow from my 341 on the turbo now til i get my exhaust downpipe switched over so the true 4" elbow will mount up.
I had 75HP stix with my HE351, put on 4" elbow, 5" downpipe, 4" back. Still could not control EGT.

This is what i heard from bob, if you go to TNT you cant go back to 4.2. I think, almost positive thats what he told me.
But if you need it let me know.
Nick
Correct, with the original betas. But there are newer versions you can use.

guys ever think about water/meth injection to cool things down?
Yes I thought about it.
But I was unhappy with the increased sooting I saw in my engine oil. I might try 50's down the road

really? well i guess i will just have to plan on getting a bigger turbo. thanks
I see you have a smarty, I'm told you can control EGT better than my TD.
But if not the bigger elbow and downpipe will serve you well with a bigger turbo

So, the one I was sent was version 4.10C according to the file name.

but wont a bigger single be laggy? i pull alot and thats what concerns me.
A 62/65/14 will tow good. Its when you get into the 66 range like I have where you have to change the way you drive to tow.

HTT Turbo

I am looking for a new Turbo and looking at the HTT 62/71 or the 64/71. I do a little towing but mostly street driving. I have the Smarty Sr and Fass system and 5" exhaust. What is everyones take on a good turbo and what would you stay away from?

I had the htt 64/71 and that was a great turbo. i had no complaints at all. i was glad i went with that size instead of the 62

Thanks for the ino on the 64/71. DId you have any issues when towing with this one?

With just the smarty, you may want to stick to the 62/71. It is a nice streetable turbo that will still hold up to towing. How heavy are you planning on towing and how hilly is it where you'll be towing?

I tow a 20' gooseneck with a skid steer loader and at times some hunting vehicles on it. But mostly just the truck on and off road.

my vote would be for the 62 then

how would one go about checking to see if injectors and fuel pump and trans are bad in a truck? I am going to look at an 03 this weekend and want to make sure these things are in decent shape as i read these are common problems.
