So I just checked the owner connect website, If I'm deleted do I care about this or not needed?

Chrysler has determined that some 2012 Dodge RAM pickup trucks equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may require reprogramming of the Powertrain Control Module.
Recommended Service:
The Powertrain Control Module on your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) may have been built with a calibration that could exceed in-use standards for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) before the end of useful life (specified by EPA and CARB as 11 years or 120,000 miles).
What your dealer will do:
Chrysler will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. The work will take about one hour to complete. We recommend that you make an appointment with your studio to minimize your inconvenience.
What you should do:
Simply contact your dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before your appointment. Please bring this letter with you to your dealer.
If you need help:
If you have any questions or concerns which your dealer is unable to resolve, please contact the Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403.
California residents…
The State of California requires the completion of emission recall repairs prior to vehicle registration renewal. Your dealer will provide you with a Vehicle Emission Recall Proof of Correction Form after the recall service is performed. Be sure to save this form since the California Department of Motor Vehicles may require that you supply it as proof that the recall has been performed.
If you have already experienced this condition and have paid to have it repaired, please send your original receipts and/or other adequate proof of payment to the following address for reimbursement: Chrysler Customer Assistance, P.O. Box 21-8007, Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8007, Attention: Reimbursement. Once we receive and verify the required documents, reimbursement will be sent to you within 60 days.
Please help us update our records by filling out the attached prepaid postcard, if any of the conditions listed on the card apply to your vehicle. You may also update this information on the web at CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
We apologize for any inconvenience this service may cause to your schedule. Moving forward we are committed to providing our customers with world class quality products, ensuring that you have a positive studio experience and following up on any issues and concerns that you may have in a timely manner through our Customer Assistance Center.

Great! Haven't checked yet, but wonder what that means for us non-deleted folks. More fuel consumptions + soot! :banghead:

Damm.. Just checked, I got the recall.. <Sigh> I guess the best I can hope for in my case is that they reduce fuel consumptions and therefore improve mpg in the process.

OK its done. On my way back I noticed it went into regen, the interesting part is the temp rose to 1100+ for the NOX filter while the dpf was in the 600 to 900 range. I never noticed that before so it looks like they are just upping the temps for the NOX filter more often possibly. Need to drive more and monitor to see how often I regen compared to before.

Well not sure, but one thing I know is that it also depends on how you drive your truck (city vs highway / Granny vs foot to floor) and how often you put it under a load which should keep the dpf/cooler/egr clean and potentially reduce how often it regens.. But who knows really. :):stirpot:

I was wondering the same thing, if we could just take it to the dealer, return to stock have them flash, reinstall the tunes.

So for the guys that are deleted (me) we don't need to worry about it??? I haven't found delete friendly dealer in Oklahoma City...but my notice just came in the mail today. Kinda lost/confused about the whole situation.

When ya'll say return to stock I am guessing just the tune not reinstalling emission equipment. When they flash your truck they will see the data that comes out, maybe even looking to see how the truck was doing with current program. That would give them a base line to see how the trucks are doing with the new program next time they get hooked up to scanner.

Maybe me just being paranoid but they will see the flash counter and it may raise questions about what has been done to your truck. Not saying they are going after those that delete their trucks but it sure would be easy for them to do.

If I was in a state that did not require recalls to be done before renewing licenses I would not worry about it on deleted trucks. Emission equipped trucks I would go ahead and get it flashed.

I recieved both recalls and I'm :banghead:
Like you I'm more worried about the tie rod end issue. I put my truck back to stock this past weekend and I'm gonna drive it for a couple of months before I take it in for the smog bs. That damn CARB and EPA eco-terrorists are out of control!!!!!! What ever the tune is it's not going anything to save the world!!! I'm moving out of Cal as soon as I can. The only nice thing about this state is the weather!

That's good to hear I would take mine in for the tie rod recall but not for the computer flash. Figure if you go in for tie rod recall they would do the flash at the same time. Highly doubt they would do one and not the other. Same if you go in for warranty work recalls would be done.

I received this N40 recall today and with the jargon wasn't sure what exactly it was trying to say. My truck is not deleted. I wanted to know if the emissions were putting too much nitrogen oxide into the environment (will not get serviced) or back into my truck (will get serviced). So I called the recall customer service number and the lady couldn't answer my question. After beating around the bush she called their dealership and confirmed to me that the recall is because there is too much nitrogen going into the environment (not my concern). She could not confirm nor deny if doing the flash would lower your mpg. I called my dealer and spoke to a service tech who said the nitrogen was not going into the truck, hence into the environment. I will not be getting this serviced as it can only lower my mpg. I hope this clears up some questions.

I found a delete friendly dealer near me that I'll be talking with in a few days to see what they think about it or if we can just return to stock programming, flash it, then reinstall the mini maxx tune without any issues.
