Receieved and installed my prototype PML tranny pan on my 2014 Ram 3500 4x4. Four extra quarts of fluid, took 11.5 quarts for a drain and fill without filter change. Removed three transmount nuts to jack up transfer case enough to get rear bolts. Super simple. Used Mibil 3309 ATF.

Did you get the P0868 code when you replaced the pan and replaced the fluid???

Does the PML utilize the OEM gasket??

Does not appear so, at least the provided instructions do not mention either.

Instructions do say to not use a rigid gasket, but to use a rubber or cork one. Is the stock Aisin gasket similar to the 3rd gen gaskets? I too am interested in what gasket the OP used before I jump off in the pool, so to speak.

I reused factory gasket as mine only has 13k miles. I did have a new factory gasket on hand just in case. No extention for the filter. I dont think one is needed. I got no error codes what so ever. I think that would be an issue if you had a leak maybe.

I did not try to remove the factory pan bolts without jacking since i read the other article and how much easier iit is when you lift it up a bit. Three 15mm nuts and raise it up. Maybe its possible but didnt good fun.. 10mm and universal was still tight with it raised up. The 5mm allen heads on the PML pan easier but longer....

Just curious question.
What made you switch to this pan? Was your Aisin running hot? Did you just want more fluid capacity for better cooling? Vented pan for better cooling?
I tow 18,000# in 100 plus degree temps thru big hills and I didn't experience any high Aisin tranny temps. Think the highest temp I seen was 178deg tranny fluid.
Just curious.

Upon looking at the drain plug location....I have to ask : Does your truck have the Protection Group (transfer case skidplate) ??? Mine does......and it looks like it might be an interference problem perhaps.
