I got this unit to solve the gear hunt/shutter shift (2,3,2). I got it installed today and it seems to have cured the issue.:party018: It was really simple to install and I waited until a scheduled fluid change to do it. I hope the gear hunt is gone for good. I'll give it a week and post the results. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Dodge "RE" Governor Solenoid to GM
Pressure Control Solenoid Conversion Kit
#REC. This kit was specifically designed to handle higher base pressure in high performance applications and to improve the reliability of the governor solenoid in normal use. In performance units the pressure can flood the Dodge solenoid and cause a no shift condition at full throttle. This is the fix. Fits all rear wheel drive RE model transmissions. Added 9-25-2008. Cost $149.00

Hello to all....I am brand new here. I just traded my 03 1500 QC in on Thursday for my new 06 2500 QC with 5.9 cummins. I went to Indianna state to get it, six hour drive each way but I had a hard time finding what I was looking for around pittsburgh area. My Hemi got 10.9 MPG on the way out and cummins got 21.3 on way home which I was happier than a pig in mud about. Now the bad....My tranny has the same 1-2 shutter shift and also hits overdrive hard hard. I just changed all air, fuel and oil filters so I know that is good to go. Now I am ordering parts for my tranny from transmissionparts.com

Governor pressure sensor (#47617210) $44.75

Govenor pressure selonoid (#560281196AD) $46.89

Tranny OD and lockup selonoid (#53392D) $53.29

Tranny filter (#53920) $5.47

While I am performing these tasks, I am going to change filter and fluids while pan is dropped as well as adjust the bands as suggested.

Do you think this will cure the problems?

Thanks:thumbsup:

I just got the TSB done Thursday and I am happy to say the guy working on it must have knew what he was doing. Its better than it was when new. I think he replaced the Governor Solenoid and adjusted the TV cable. Must have got a ecm flash too because my radio clock needed reset and my remote now beeps the horn when I lock the doors.

Buy anyhow its shifts great and seems to pull alot stronger leaving the light.

It has been about 10 days and so far the conversion has stopped about 95% of the gear hunt. I still notice a little 2,3,2 shift when I slow down to about 20mph for a light and it turns green. I lightly accelerate and I get minimal gear hunt. Overall I am extremely happy with the conversion and have had no issues in normal driving. I have noticed a much firmer shift into 3rd and it stays there. Hope this helps those with the similiar gear hunt issue...

The conversion was very simple and yes, uses stock sensor.....
4 bolts, unplug the soleniod, remove the sensor from stock billet mount, install new billet mount with GM soleniod and install sensor to billet. I will attempt to post the instructions.

That PATC one still uses the stock dodge sensor though, right? Did you change that at the same time?

I saw a DTT version of this that uses a non-dodge sensor and solenoid.....according to the post, it runs 249.
