New to the cummins world and need a little help. I have a Van Aaken c3.2 installed, i am just testing it to see if i like the mild power that it should produce. Would like a little more power then stock and this box does just that. The only issue is when i tried it on the high setting which is supposed to be 100hp i believe, once it gets to the high RPM range the truck studders and it soungs like a mis-fire? I gutted the stock intake tube and removed the muffler from the truck and that is it. It runs fine in the level #2 setting and does add some power but on #3 truck doesn't seem to run right. It pulls alot harder but has the studder which i know is not right. Is there something else i need to do or check?

P.S. i know that i need to get guages this opp case first.

Thanks for any help.

Am i able to moddify the injection pump myself or is that smoething i should have done? I didnt think that the higher settings would need modifactions to the current set up of the vehical. I have read posts from others that have just used a programmer (plug and play) on the high setting and didn't have any issues. I am not doubting your reply i just want to learn.

Thanks

Yeah, you can get away without modding the pump in some cases. When you start using programmers that fuel hard though, the stock lift pump can't keep up (it only puts out 8psi) and depending on the programmer, the injection pump can have trouble too. A aftermarket pump can deliver a lot more fuel and the injection pump likes to see 20 to 22psi

There are a couple vendors you can buy a DIY kit to mod the pump but, to know things are done right... sending it to them would be my suggestion.

It's possible that your stock LP is about to give up on you. I run a C3.2 and I can turn mine up on high with absolutely no issues. I still have the stock canister mounted pump which everybody says is crap. If I were you I'd first check my fuel pressure...
