To you guys running around with deleted trucks, any change in mileage? I would imagine that at the very least mileage would stay consistent, but did anyone notice an increase in mileage?

i did dpf delete and smarty around 3000 miles, got very little, then around 6500 did a downpipe swap, got a couple of mpg, then at 15000 it came alive, now at 32000 with the right tune i see around 22-23 on the hiway, and i have 4.10's

What's your over all economy? I've had a best of 20.5mpg hand calculated. My typical mpg is 16-18mpg combined.

I've seen my "overhead" at up to 25-26 mpg when driving at 55-60 on rural roads for 20-30 miles at a time. I know the OVH is not correct but it normally has a inaccuracy of 1.1 mpg, I do believe I was getting an honest 24 or 25 mpg when driving like that.

Here is my truck:

2009 Quad cab 4x4 short bed with 6.7 and 6-speed auto 3.73's....

I have full 5-inch exhaust, Diablosport programmer and Air Raid Cold air intake.....on trips of 300+ miles I see an average of 24-mpg...

Piss on the warranty......I needed the fuel economy!

24mpgs seems high, are you going off the OH, or is that hand cal.
cause i am only getting around 19-20 but i have a smarty and g56.

I just looked at your sig. and it says that your truck is 2wd but in your post you say is it 4x4 so what is it going to be?

I always refuel when down to a 1/4 tank. So hand calculated with mixed driving I went from a range of 13-19 to 17-21. Big improvement I'd say.

Stock I had a high of 21.5 MPG US
After Deletes a high of 25.5 MPG US
Average 22 MPG US
with 245,000 Miles on the clock one quarter of my goal of 1,000,000 miles

Mpg

I think that you'll find different figures with this question but I think the general rule is after you do the deletes your mileage will improve. I even read on here somewhere where a guy went and drove a bunch of new cummins on a lot and got a different reading on the overhead in each truck driving the same way and going the same route. Me personally I just tightened the last band clamp on my 5" maybe an hour ago. After driving around town the overhead jumped up almost 7 mpg is that going to show up when I do the hand calculated tank later on this weekend? I hope so. Even if I only get 1 more mpg I don't care the truck is a beast now and I am so happy with it! Its night and day difference IMO.

Just put a full tank through her since the deletes (11,500 miles on the clock)... I got the G-56 with 3.42s (stock tires) with 5" pipe, no muffler and smarty on 60hp with default settings (stock clutch)

About 75% highway 25% city to include a 40 mile trip with Oak logs in the back (filled).

Got 575miles with less than a 1/4 tank left, and 30 gallons.

Hand calculated 19.1 MPG

Before deletes I was getting ~17MPG

On average people are seeing a 3-5 mpg increase. These numbers can applied to any over inflated original mpg calculation.

Now, one of the best improvements in mpg's comes with miles. 50000-70000 seems to be where most of these diesel trucks reach their mileage sweet spot. IMO

Hey Alverado 6.7...I just bought a New Legend 40-foot Gooseneck trailer in Alverado, TX on Saturday, very pretty country!

My truck has no lift, and stock 265 series tires....no ranch hands just a gooseneck hitch in the bed.

I buy my fuel on a credit card so every month it spits out my bill with ACTUAL FUEL USAGE...and those numbers do not lie!

Thanks I like it here myself too.

I was not directly singling you out in that comment. It was meant to be a joke to everyone. Sorry you took it that way.......

I'd have to get to know ya better before I start questioning your integrity. :rof:rof:rof:rof

Enjoy your new trailer!!!!

You have to remember I am a Ford guy at heart and have a few fords too...:)

The guys on the ford forum like to talk $hit all the time when it comes to mileage..........so i tell them that any mileage I get in my Dodge's or Ford's can be backed up on paper.........

It is cool...I didn't take it to any defense :)

But where you live is sure pretty country!

you know of anyone with any 22.5 or cut down 22's for a Dodge? I lust bought a 2010 Ram 3500 Long Bed crew cab 2wd truck a few weeks back. It is in the shop for a shifting issue with the 6-speed manual but when it gets out I would like to do the big rig look.......I found a set on craigstlist in ft. worth when i was in town but the guy would not answer his phone.

I put black KMC's on my truck the day I picked it up and since then I wished I would have splurged for the bigger ones.

If you come across something that might work give me a hollar.

Thanks

Aaron

I had my Dodge done about 2 month ago, I average driving hard 17.5mpg in town and towing my boat around 16mpg but on the Hwy I average between 19-25mpg depends if I drive hard or not. Before I was getting between 12 and 14 mpg huge improvement!
