Anyone put fog lights on your ST without gettin flashed from dealer? Can I just splice them into the low beam?

#3 ·
Yea I have to buy the bumper with cut outs.

#4 ·
If I was to buy the factory switch w/fogs would I be able to use that one?

Haha I'm just asking the questions my buddy is going to do the work. I don't do wire work. I'm waiting for all the parts to come in and them a warm day. I'll let you know. I might just get flashed at the dealer if I can talk to the mechanic. Don't know how delete friendly they are.

I hope so. But expect the worst hope for the best.

Unless you just run a switch and a relay. Like stated above. There is two ways to go about it.

Im also want todo the same cant wait to see how it works out. Do you know if they can reflash the truck with the deletes and my mini max on or would i have to pull it all off before flashing?

H&S told me I will just have to redownload the tune once they are done. I'm going to call the service manager at the dealership tomorrow.

know that's the best advice I've read all day I tied into my running lights and put a relay to run my fogs also I kept my Ranch hand bumper from my 08 and did a little cutting on it to make it fit my 12 3500 ST so i have 08 (round) fog lights but who cares they work:party018: just installed HID's from Retro solutions on my headlights know I'm thinking I need to up grade the fogs cause they are yellow compared to the 6000 hids

I wan't the factory look. I'm going to use a wiring harness with fogs and put on the quad headlamps.

#17 ·
Well with the mini maxx I can turn that feature on. I can just hook up everything like factory.

I dont know where you're getting your info from. The kit is the same for 1/2 tons. The bumper is different. All you need is a factory switch, bumper, mounting brackets, quad lamps, fog light harness, headlight wiring harness, have dealer upload the code via star scan.

Got my info from here and the dealership in my area. I know it was done on a 2010 but my truck is a 2012. From what i read on here and other forums the best option was auxilary switch with relay. But the kit you are talking about which i am sure will work on 2500, 3500 trucks in the Mopar catalog at my dealer was listed for the 1500 trucks only.

I want the factory look as well and would like to know for sure someone actually has done OEM with OEM switch before i buy the used bumper with cutouts and the 1500 foglamp kit.

But with that being said no one could tell me for sure if a power seat on an ST was plug and play and it was but my dealer wasn't sure about that either. Well I have a power seat in my ST truck now (all wiring harnesses were there). Hopefully you are right but i dont want to be the guinea pig on this one.

I know i read a thread about a guy who spent a ton of money on his 2011 ST trying to get factory fogs to work all OEM thru his dealership with no luck and ended up doing an auxilary switch with relay. Also read that 2010 wiring is different from 2011 and up. Read that on here as well.

Things to be thankful for.........The fact that we still have the right to bear arms.....so far.

i have a 2012 2500 slt came with no fog lights, i just ordered new bumpers to color match(with fog light holes) , got factory switch, and 2011 factery wire harness with fog plug, fog lights, getting painted today. will install tomarrow, will keep you guys posted on how it works for me.

What part number headlight harness did you get? I have the wrong one right now. Of course nobody can give me the right one.

#25 ·
I have the complete front headlamp harness like fogs, headlamps, horns, hood plug, etc.. It runs all the way across the front of the truck and plugs in the fuse box. You can just get the fog light wires and just zip tie them all the way upto the fuse box and plug them in to a plug in the fuse box plug. That's how the factory mopar kit comes that I was reading on yesterday. It still says you need the star mobile tool and gotta have the code put in it but ill try today bumpers got painted lastnight getting installed today

Right, I have all that. But I couldn't find on my headlamp harness that I have a place for the fog light harness to plug into the headlamp harness. Pretty sure I have the wrong headlamp harness.

can someone post up the part numbers to do the fog light add and the quad headlight conversion? i'm going to want to do all this. and does anyone have a write up on it anywhere?

Lilchopchop, how did the install go?? I bought a bumper last week to do it to my 2012 and would love to have the parts list you needed in order to install. Also an idea on what everything cost you?
Thanks,

That's the new bumpers

The truck with the old bumper

The 2011 wire harness was different so I had to cut up that harness to get the fog light wires out. So from the plug all the way up to the fuse box.

The stock plug at te fuse box,

The stock plug once I put the fog light wires in..(white/yellow, white/orange)

Where I ran the wires. From their to the fuse box

I hooked the ground up right their. That's right next to the battery and fuse box.

I taped it up with the factory headlamp harness and ran it to the fuse box

The dirty looking wire is the fog lamp one.

Fuse box all put back together
