Turn key on, hold down odometer button down till it pops up. About 5-10 seconds.

 

I have done that. It shows 118,200 miles and 45xx hours. My concern is that if the cluster has been swapped prior to me getting the truck, the miles and hours would be that from the donor truck, not the actual miles/hours from the truck I own.

 

Gotcha... I was under the impression the cluster would display what the ECM is telling it. I believe u are correct. Maybe hooking Cummins INSITE directly to the ECM directly and trying to find it?

 

Where did you buy truck from?
If odometer was switched should be paperwork.
Any service /registration records , Carfax to verify ?
Otherwise can start checking part numbers.
NV4500 in 325/600 series CR wanna be careful on the throttle.

I bought the truck in PA, I may have to run a carfax and see if it has any mileage listed. I ran the truck build sheet. I'm going to run the motor later and see if there's any data on that. On the build sheet it says 5.9l HO cummins engine. My motor was built in 2/2005, would that make it the 325/610 version?

 

Well I just learned that unless the ecm is from my truck, which it's not, I will never be able to find the mileage and hours so essentially it is unknown at this point

 

yes if DOM is after 1/2004 then 5.9l is 600 series platform and all are same as far as Cummins engine.

the FCA build sheet is wrong/marketing BS , it shows HO for all 5.9s, as far as Cummins is concerned HO was 03-04(12/31/2003)

If odometer miles can be guesstimated, I’d use 25-MPH as the conservative bet for the Average Annual MPH.

118,200 @ 4500 = 26, for example.

Preferably — in actuality — it’s higher. (27-29).

Not that many get it above 30 (35 is the ideal mark).

We’ll all help you pretend NO WAY was it below 24.
