I see you got a 6.7L. Unless you plan on dropping in an old 12v cummins you are going to be on the loosing end of that battle

bro, I got half of my H&S kit and right now its a down pipe and 1 piece of a straight pipe. Besides the fact you would die of diesel fumes while driving with the windows up, its hella loud. I think it might be bc it's right under neath you too. But I think a 5.9'er will still out do ya for loudness. Maybee, but a megaphone as your exhaust tip.

 

My stacks roar, especially without the muffler, but the 5.9 will win the battle.

lol i ran that system on my truck for almost 40k miles lol hacked it off rite at the cat and slapped on a used 4"x 36" stack i got from the international semi shop (freebie) pointed at the ground and a lil angled to the passenger side SUPER LOUD!!! but with a 5.9 too

 

those with stacks are the 7" stacks that much louder than a 5" stack? and are dual stacks louder than a single stack? thanks

 

I would guess duals are louder then single. As far as size, i think that just changes tone mainly. the 5" stacks are going to sound raspier then 6" and so on, I am guessing.

the 24v 5.9 and CR 5.9 are by far the loudest. the 12v 5.9 have the loudest engine rattle. 6.7 are not as loud but have a very nice deep tone to them.

 

I have everything on my truck to the bumper and its freaking loud. I also have a 8 inch tip ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!

 

Another reason is the VGT, it seems to quiet the exhaust a bit and take over altogether with the EB engaged. I think the EB/Towhaul coasting to a stop with a 5" TBE would make anything else sound inferior...IMO for anyone who has experienced... My setup is not stainless but I can only imagine.

 

I don't know what you guys are talking about... A 6.7 with 5" TBE and the 2nd gen manifold setup is louder than a 5.9. That VGT turbo kills, I mean kills the loudness.

You want loud spend about 3500 dollars on a zues ecm. It can run on one single injection event and will sound like a 12 valve. And ditch the vgt for a fixed vein turbo and put on a second gen manifold and youll sound just like a 12 valve. If i had the monjey id do it. I will get to itt one day

Mines pretty loud :thumbsup: it gets so loud in the cab that my subs stop working entirely! It used to Sound like Darth when anyone would Talk. Had to install a resonator to Tone it down!

taking out the VGT makes it sound like a 5.9 on steroids (Through the exhaust).
