i plan on putting a 4k gsk in sometime soon and i have heard that egt will shoot through the roof what can i do about this.

I played around with my truck for a long time and know what works and with my afc tightened to where I'd like to have running pretty clean with small puffs as i shift it is not nice at all to my clutch. Im not naive thinking I could make big power on stock parts but you can certainly make the best with what you have. When Im not paying for college anymore I will start to buy some go fast parts.

absolutely agree I need a charger, but Im on a budget and some of my other heat has to do with a loose star wheel which I use as a clutch saver. Everything can be done the proper way with money haha.

The star wheel doesn't control fuel above a certain psi. I've heard 10 but don't know for sure. I just hate to see people blow up there motors thinking they can free mod there truck to 500rwhp. My friend over tuned his ve pump and it ran away, he had to use a plank of wood on his turbo intake to suffocate the motor.

And your clutch is a input shaft saver. LOL

What's with all this fueling and no air?

Your not making any more power taking your turbo out of its efficiency range, just wasting fuel and risking your motor from horrible damage.

If you have a 215 pump, you shouldn't have a zero plate without a new charger, and you also need to tune your pump. J-C

if you dont already have high egt's with a 215 pump consider yourself lucky. I have a love hate relationship with mine. If you plan on playing hot rod on the street I'd recommend running about 21*of timing. No less than 19* tho and that means new head bolts retorqued Im not gonna say go get arps cuz you can get by without them for a long time. I plan on building a water injection kit as well as up-ing the timing. Because at wide open throttle I will easily see 1600* by the time I hit 100, and it use to be I'd wrap the pyro straight downwards by the time I hit 85. Bumping my timing helped a lot. Also prefer for a new experience trying to learn how to drive an upgraded clutch and 4k's haha its real jumpy at first.

I dont think I'd let it see those kind of temperatures too many more times or you'll be squeezing a lot more into that budget than a turbo.

Water injection will cool your EGTs, and water/meth will either cool it down or add power or both.

You could put a plate back in, that would not limit your transitional power but limit your top end until you can get a bigger turbo. I don't even know if you would take a hit in power because you'll be revving higher anyway with less rack restriction in high RPMs.

right but at wot is there any way outside of turbo mods to keep em down cuz i can hit 1400 pretty quick
