'07 3500 2 wheel drive, 6.7 Cummins, 68rfe auto trans, 11.5" AAM trac-rite differential with 4.10 gears. Truck has 259k miles on it. Just had the trans rebuilt, now there's quite a bit of slap at downshift (when coming to a stop). When I change from forward to reverse and back again while stopped, the drives shaft turns almost 1/8 of a turn. Pulled the cover. Gears look great. Almost no play between pinion and ring gear. Seems like all the play is in the limited slip mechanism. Is this normal? Or is it worn out? Anybody have any input on this? Thanks!

1/8 of a turn is fairly normal.
Does your truck have a 2 piece driveshaft? If so have you checked the slip joint? They can wear out and cause lots of clunk.
