As title says does anyone have any idea how many 5.9 mega cabs were made? I know they made them for 2006 and first half of 2007.....just curious!

They're a heck of a lot more rare than a 5.9 Quad Cab, I can tell you that...and they demand a premium because of it.

I'm glad I bought mine when I did.

I have one as well and love it. Fold the back seats down and a small family could live back there! They have built the Mega Cab every year since 2006 although more seemed to be built each year before 2008

I read somewhere there was only 619 5.9 mega cabs made which sounds a little low to me! But at any given time there are only about 20-30 between ebay and autotrader so they are DEFINATELY more rare than the quad cab for sure. Either way I am on the road making a 700 mile trip to pick one up. Stay tuned!

I bought the last 5.9 on the lot in May of 07. The rest were 6.7's. I was out buying my first CTD and I wasn't aware at the time that Dodge was going to the 6.7. I know I was lucky to get it but didn't realize it back then.

619 was def the number I read pertaining to the 5.9 megas. Maybe there was 619 manual 5.9 megas made? I know from looking over the past few months they are like needles in the haystack literally I've seen like 5 haha so maybe that was the stat? I wish I could find that article but I can't now! Ugh! We'll I'm about 2 hours away can't wait to see this beast! It's the rare charcoal color too. Very few of those around also

I'm not a big fan of the Mega's in the looks department. That extra little bit of cab behind the rear doors just looks odd and out of place to me.

I'm a big fan of Regular cab long beds though...Single guy with no family FTW! :lol2:

One email to Chrysler corporate asking the production numbers for a certain model year will probably give you an answer ;)

i know what you mean on the pricing! i bought my 07 5.9 mega with manual a few years ago, paid $36k for it then, with 50k miles, last week i had the bank aparise it now at 83k miles, they came up with with over $37k value, thing like buying a house lol

That's awesome its still worth what you paid years ago. I got mine this past Dec. with 120k miles and paid 22k. I knew I got a great deal since all the quad cabs with those miles on it were all 25k - 30k. I figured I could put if up for sale and make a little $ but then would be back in the same boat looking for another.

Ok, I got one ... So ... You can add mine to the count.

06 auto ... I absolutely love it ... Huge back seat leg room ... Folded down, the back is perfect for carrying the 4 dogs. Oscar (the Chocolate Lab mix) is quite certain that the truck is his and he should be in it WHENEVER is goes ANYWHERE.

Haha! That's too funny. I just picked mine up yesterday and made the 10 hour trip back home. I'm absolutely in love with it. 6" on 37s it's beautiful. It's got an intake, exhaust and an edge juice with attitude. I'm contemplating my first mods. I was looking into a deeper tranny pan to hold a little more coolant to keep temps down. Although the highest temp I saw yesterday running it for 10 hours straight was 187 degrees. Might do some audio upgrades also. Any thoughts??

I have one and love the truck. I am in California and had to look for weeks to find one and luckily found it in Texas. Best truck I have ever had. My wife and I have three kids and on long trips it's like they are not even there. Having the ability to recline the back seats is a huge comfort for them. I also love all of the room behind the rear seats to put gear. Have fun with your new truck you'll love it!!!

Ah, good ol' Inferno Red. Still one of my favorite colors!

Here she is!!

That's a sharp truck. Nothing looks better than a mild lift on a Mega, nothing. Longbeds are pretty close.

I got my 06 megacab (manual) about 2 year ago. Love it for sure. Bought it with 86k now have 117k.

makes camping easy. can fit all kind of stuff in the back when needed. !!!

let see some pics of mega's sitting on 35's or 37's. State what kind of lift, and how much lift etc. pics would be awesome!!!!!

Mine has 6" on 37" Toyo MTs. I'm not sure what kind of lift it is but if I had to guess I would say fabtech as most of the 6" lifts I've seen on megas have been fabtech.

I've got an 06' mega 3500, srw, with 110,000 miles...it's going on the chopping block.

Best lift

Wondering what lifts guys are putting on the mega's. I have a 2006, 5.9 2500 mega cab and am looking to put a 6 inch in the front and 4 in the back. What do you guys think would be best for me, keep in mind im going to be driving this for a long time, not wanting to just throw a cheap lift on and sell it. Thanks!!

the best thing i have found so far is what i did to my mega, it rides and drives so nice its unbelievable, and the best bang for the buck

i used a 3.5" TGC block in the rear, procomp long arm kit, TGC progressive rate 3.5" coils and a 4" spacer up front, with heim sway links, kept the factory pitman arm, redrilled the axle mount to center the axle, the 08+ "T" style tie kit, made new shock towers in the front and modified the shock mounts in the rear to keep the factory shocks, and total i was less then $1200 in the entire kit with me doing all the work

there is no play in the steering, no box brace needed, dont have to worry about breaking the sector shaft, and it corners better than it did stock, i have built a lot of different lifts and this ones rides way better than any other by a long shot
