Truck has 35k on the clock with zero problems. Switched to Delo full syn last oil change and drove 3,000 mikes round trip to Canada to go hunting. Change engine oil light came on 400 miles into trip. Thought it might be an error. Stopped checked the oil and checked for leaks but found nothing. Reset the light and went on with my trip. Got home and after about a week the light came on again. This time I just changed the oil. Reset the light and after about a day the engine light came on. Hooked up the scanner and all it read was P22B2, see service manual. Service manual has nothing about this. Any idea on what this is? Thanks.

Take it to the dealer. I had the same code, and after 4 trips to the dealer it got deleted. They just kept replacing parts in the hope that eventually it would fix the problem. One of the diesel techs told me that 90% of these trucks that come in for warranty work are emissions related. Check with your servicing dealer first and see exactly what will and will not be covered after you delete if that is an option.

Yeah, I even deleted with SIMS first and kept getting the same 02 sensor code. The senior Diesel Tech pulled me off to the side and said, "go get a tuner and shut all that crap off and make it run like it is supposed to." I did and have not looked back since.

I got the P22B2 code today. I'm leaving in 2 days for an 1100 mile hunting trip and there is no time for me to get to a dealer before that to have it changed. Can I make the trip with this issue? Or do I need to make other arrangements?

The scanner says
"O2 sensor negative current control circuit/open (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
Confirmed"

I believe its the same code my truck threw with 2000 miles on it. I too removed that unwanted hindrance.

Sick, I can't be sure of anything but when mine threw the code everything was still functioning as normal and i just kept driving it. I had the local auto parts store read and clear the code.

I don't want to be the one that says sure go ahead and then you get stranded on the side of the road. Then your going to want to head to south Texas instead of Canada so you can kick my rear!

Wow, where did i read north to Canada into that. I read too many threads at once i guess? Hopefully the dealer has some good news.

Good luck with your hunt too. I used to hunt just north of that area in Runnels County. Great hunting in that area.
