I know I need to fill out my sig im doing this from my phone im having a hard time figuring it out...for the problem when I have me edge on anything but stock my truck flutters alil bit when your giving it gas unless im in stock mode idk why...I dont have the boost elbow installed could that cause the problem?? Thanks in advance.

Define flutters a bit...
Of the top of my head I'd say check all power and ground connections, MAP sensor connection, and the wiretap.

Yes define "flutter", like a stumble or hesitant? I know this is the #1 guestion, but what is your FP while this is going on? The EJWA could be drawing the fuel pressure down starving the VP44 for fuel.

I also do not have a fuel psi gauge installed nor on my edge I know I need one asap I just bought the truck recently im just not sure how to install one with the fass titanium fuel pump any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Don't go around rolling coal :spank: Diesels don't need a bad name.

No fuel psi gauge... :banghead: Very VERY VERY illogical. You don't add power until you know what the rest of the truck is doing, especially lift pump pressure on these trucks.
To add one, put a T in the line before the injection pump, then run a snubber and buy the sending unit from edge. I would hope your fuel psi is ok given the pump that is on there.

Now that "flutter".... does it hesitate for a second blow a bit of smoke then catch up with itself? If yes that's just the edge abruptly changing the timing. Nothing to worry about.

I dont roll coal unless im on the back roads...ok I really appreciate the fuel psi advice...no it does not smoke when it flutters it just does it while im giving throttle... does the sending unti clip onto the snubber or do I need a banjo bolt aswell?

Banjo if your running stock lift pump / lines. Call edge and they can hook you up with what you need.
Knowing fuel pressure will help us (including you) diagnose the problem.

Also, is your CEL on? Check for codes and post them up if there are any.
These two things will be a big help.

If you got it new you should have everything to set up fuel pressure. On the FASS do you have 1/2 inch lines? If so, check out the XDP 1/2 inch fitting to put your FP sensor in. I got mine for maybe $15, cant remember.

Vulcan PLT8 Push Lock Tee Diesel Fuel Line

Buy the above part, a snubber and a fuel pressure sensor. Install then in line 1 foot before the vp44 and after any major restrictions in the fuel system.

Then hook it to the edge a read the pressure. This is the exact setup I have on both my trucks and it works flawlessly, and has been on the one for 2 years now without an issue.

Yep same set up I have...I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Yes install one. The hammer on the sensor will greatly reduce the life of the sensor.

Not to highjack this thread, Hope the Flutter, Flutters away...This is concerning the FP sensor. I have mine installed on the LP itself. Would it be better to have it closer to the IP. Just asking..:confused013:

You have a fass with 1/2 inch pushlock running to the vp44? Yes I installed mine t-d off the pushlock about a foot back from the injection pump, that way if the after the fass line gets kinked, pinched or cut I will know . Just my thinking

Yes, i have the 1/2 line to the VP. Guess i have a new project to add to the list.
Will need to order me up a tee. Thanks.

#20 ·
The tee is an easy install. Better than modding your ejwa harness

Look up head loss.... The length of the line and the change in height both cause pressure losses, and because flow works on pressure differentials you want the pressure headed into your pump.

I'm running 15psi at the pump. If i move it to the VP and it decreases psi. Is there an adjustment on the FASS LP to increase psi?

#25 ·
If it's still 15 at the injection pump at wot I wouldn't worry about it. If it drops, you can stretch or shim the spring behind the fitting for the fass return line. You could probably get fass to send you a higher pressure spring, wich I believe is just a stretched spring. Another thing done to raise pressure is to instal a 1/2 in ball valve in the fass return line, and close it until you find a pressure you like. Dodge ih has a good write up on it

tap the vp and make sure you install the fuel pressure sending unit you may need a lift pump

Ok so I got my pressure sensor from edge today my fuel line is 3/8" not half idk why...I coul not find a 3/8" push to lock tee so I made my own out of supplys at work its all brass tee and barbed fittings I installed my psi sensor and im only reading 3 psi at idle can anyone help me...im going to my dads shop tomorrow to hook a mechanical gauge up but im hoping my sensor isnt bad could it be because I made my own fitting??

As long as it can get pressure to the sender there shouldn't be any issues with the T. 3 psi sounds like you may have found your problem. Test it with a mechanical to be sure though.

Make sure you have a snubber too so you don't destroy the sending unit.
