if I am correct here (not sure I am) all you have to is flash it to manual to make it a manual ecm

 

check your fuses before throwing a ECM in it but ^ is correct.

 

It was a fuse

 

Sorry just getting back to this, the truck had been sitting for quite awhile and the owner said they checked all the fuses (obviously he doesn't know what a blown fuse looks like) but we took their word for granted.

I will check tomorrow for which fuse it was.

Good lesson learned here

 

I had a similar issue and sure enough replaced fuses that didn't even appear bad and it fixed it check engine light clicked itself off after a 30 mile drive

 

What were the symptoms? Was it just no connection to ECM or were you experiencing bigger issues like no start etc?

 

The truck was displaying "NO BUS" and also wouldn't start, BUT we later found out that the VP had shot a wad.

 

If you have multiple failures like that I would double check your alternator ac ripple. Just a thought. When mine blew ecm fuse repeatedly that's what it was

 

Didn't want to start a new one so I'm goin to jump in on this since it's an ECM ? Anybody ever have one that won't reset so you can reset the apps???

what do you mean reset?

 

Disconnect battery's 30 min drain capacitors turn key on push pedal to floor an back up turn key off apps reset mine won't reset

Well the truck is reading 9.41% at idle but it idles normal but I wouldn't even be messing with it but the high idle won't engage on the truck with it reading that

how are you measuring the voltage? DMM or scan tool?

 

I've got an ultra gauge pluged into the obd2 port but I checked the voltage at the sensor with a volt meter an it's correct

have you tried to adjust it?

 

When I saw that it was 9% I thought there was a problem that's when I pulled out the volt meter to check an it's set correctly It just seems like the ECM will not reset to the correct voltage
