I only have one fob for my truck, so I bought another. My dad being a mechanic has a scanner that can program new fobs, so I thought I would try to save the $50 the dealer charges for this service.
Anyhow, went down to the dealer with my truck to get the pin key code so that we can program it. The dealer said they cannot and will not provide me with the code as it's a Chryler policy. Only the service tech's are allowed to know it. Is this common practice? Wish I didn't have to spend the cash to get this programmed when he has the pin right in front of him in the computer.
