CP4 recall on truck with DPF delete and tune....what to do?

Bought a 2019 2500 about a year ago and the DPF got clogged up about 6 months ago. Was told $10K repair with dealer or delete the DPF and add a tune for $4K. Not fully understanding what I was doing I went with the cheaper option. Now we have the recall for the CP4 to CP3 fuel pump conversion. The tune is stored in the PCM and will get wiped when they reprogram it for the CP3. There is no replacement tune for the CP3 at this time. Has anyone run into this issue? Any suggestions? I'm new to this forum so please direct me if there is already a thread on this topic.

They will all work with your tuning.

The Chrysler thing, I don’t know. Since they seem to have issues getting parts and you can get them then should be you submit a receipt or something. I haven’t done it so not entirely sure. Even out of pocket you’re money ahead instead of downtime waiting, you decide when you get the swap done.

Call some dealers and explain the situation some have been good and did not preform the flash. My dealer would not skip the flash (even as i explained it was getting over written the second i hopped back in it) i just reflashed my tune in the parking lot no issues

even talk to the shop who deleted it if you dont have the tune they may be willing to just reflash the tune back on and the CP4 delete tune is the same as the recall CP3 tune for most tuners

I know this is a little old but I had an appointment early January to get the recall done and called the day before and explained that I would need to reflash after the install the service writer (who is a friend) told me they couldn't do the recall on a deleted truck because the minute they connected the computer to my truck I would report to FCA that it had been deleted and she said they wouldn't get paid for the job so I purchased the CP3 no tune pump from S&S, going to do the job myself.

Thats a flat out lie on all accounts. The recall is a MANDITORY safety recall they can NOT deny it being done deleted or not and the computer does not work like your “friend” says he just does not want to deal with it. Also the do not have to get the ECM flashed they can skip that step. My 19 was done while deleted no issues they did flash it and i just reflashed my tune in the parking lot

Hopefully, you have informed your "friend" that her information was incorrect. Like sniper said, "That's a flat out lie on all accounts."

Wait yall im really behind on this and i need to know if i can still save my truck, so i deleted my 2020 ram 2500 and i have the cp4 on it and i went to my ram dealer to get it swapped for the cp3 and i was told they couldnt perform the recall on it because of the delete and tune. are they lying to me or can it still be done?

Make sure you have the correct tune file from your tuner to accommodate the added checksums they are putting in the most recent PCM flash. Contrary to some old rumors they are NOT locking pre 22 PCM's.

They cannot refuse to perform an NHTSA mandated safety recall. The truck will run without them installing a new PCM flash. If they refuse to not flash the PCM fine, then just have them do what they need to do and and ignore the MIL. If they can drive the truck to the parking lot, it's fine.

You can flash it in the parking lot, clear all the codes, and drive it away.

Ok so the flash has to be done right away or can i still drive it fine as it is? I say that because my delete and tune was done in Ohio and im from texas.
