CM flat bed questions

I just had a dealer order a ER model bed from CM truck beds for a 2013 single cab 3500. I know on my stock bed that the DEF filler neck and diesel filler neck are sxs. I was wondering if anyone knew if that DEF filler neck had to be re-routed or if there was a place for it on that bed. Also would like to see some flat bed pictures of other rigs if you got em. Thanks

If its not too late I would cancel the order and go with a B&W. If your stuck with the CM then here is what I would do day one when it arrives.....

1. Seam seal every joint on the underside. CM only seals the exterior joints and after 5 years every seam rusts through and the powder coat lifts and peals off.

2. ensure each cargo box closes correctly. I have yet to see a single CM bed that came from the factory have the doors adjusted properly so they all leak dust and water.

3. ensure each electrical connection is tight and sealed with silicone. On the three lights above the license plate area silicone the wires to the lights and to the bed. I have trouble with ice build-up and the weight pulls the connectors off.

If CM did these things at the factory they would have a good bed but they cut so many corners I can't recommend them.

If you have the factory gooseneck prep plate welded to the frame, the bed will have to be lifted about 4" off the frame and it will look like sh*t, that's the reason I sold mine.

I didn;t have the factory prep package on mine but I also don't want to convert my camper to a gooseneck ball so I had the CM dealer cut the recessed ball box cut out and weld in a B&W turn-over ball into the bed. This way I can still use my 5th wheel hitch or a regular ball.

That's a very nice looking flatbed truck. One of my pet peeves with flatbeds, though, is that they don't even try to follow the lines of the truck. They should do as canopy companies do, and try to make them flow a little better. I would like to see some of the headache rack areas follow the cab line slightly forward, etc. Smoother lines, rather than completely straight.
