Charging problem

I know about the grid heaters cycling. The charging system will go from overcharging to not charging. Starline has no clue to what the problem is so they said they would get back with the mechanic in a few days. In the mean time I'm with-out a truck and Dodge say they want pay far a rental because it has not been diagnose 100%.

Haven't heard of any problems with the 06's not charging. Lets hope it is just a fluke and is an easy fix for the dealer. Let us know how it turns out and what the dealer has to do to fix it.

Their are 9 of them setting at the dealership right now with the same problems. DC has no clue of what the problem is or caused bye. They say a flash should be out in the next week or so but they are not sure if that will even fix the problem. In the mean time the 9 trucks are down(1 is mine) and DC will not pay for a rental vehicle. Also the tech told me my flywheel was coming apart and would need to be replaced(another problem they are seeing alot). My truck only has 8700 miles on it and is falling apart.

Have strange problems too.

My 06 Dodge Cummins Mega Cab will not allow the radio to come on when i do a cold start. If I let it warm up and kill it sometimes the radio will come back on and other times it will not. My amp gauge is all over the place too, it seems to be charging all the time. i have been thinking it might be an alternator problem or a bad battery. I hope dealer finds out what is wrong the charging systems on the 06.

Mine also was doing that same thing 3 days before it just stopped charging. They replaced my alternator and batteries but that did not fix anything. Starline said that all the 750 amp batteries were bad and to replace them with 800 amp. Still no fix.

For you guys with the charging problems. Try setting up a ground cable that connects to the alternator bracket on one end, and the nearest negative battery cable on the other. The way that the bracket is attached does not make for a good ground and might be causing some problems. Give it a shot.

What we have found on mine was the PCM was not sending anything to the alternator. When we called DC for a PCM they said no they were working on a flash to try and fix it. I guess I'm suppose to sit around until they come out with the flash. I'm not happy with DC already and only have 8700 miles on my truck and they don't give a :):):):) about their customers.

What was the name of the dealer if you don't mine. I would like to give them a call and talk to them about their problems they had. Mine has been seating at the dealer for over a week now. Star Line still hasn't got back with them about anything.
