Pretty excitied to get this thing finally installed, got it all installed and the stupid CEL comes on. Just got the truck back from the dealer after cleaning the turbo. Truck hasnt gone into limp mode yet, driven about 150 miles so far. Love the sound, how a diesel is suppost to sound. Any ideas or input???? One question though, does the plug with the posi tap wire hooked to it stay unpluged??

whats the code

it will throw a code thats normal clear it if you have an edge or pmt and it will go away, or i think the instructions say to cycle the key 5 times...the delta sensor STAYS UNPLUGGED, badp and me have been goin through hell to figure out why my truck still goes into regen and finally fixed it lol the posi tap needed to be on the wire better hahhaah

I was thinking the same thing. Good thing the code free kits aren't expensive.......

That was just a human error in assembling the harnesses and if you got one of those bad ones they will replace it. The info is around here somewhere.........
The question is, Is the harness where his problem is or is it something else?

I believe Shane mentioned that the truck will throw a code or two when it is in the "learning" phase i.e. as soon as you install it.... It will take some more time for things to equalize again once the install is completed then it should be code free. Keep driving it, and keep us posted.

I have the Regen timer code. Can't get rid of it. Since I changed the harness, my whole code process is haywire. I'm getting a lightening bolt which is new, it's a generator circuit. All my codes changed from the EGR delete. Example, I used to have a P0405 for the EGR, now it's P0100, Mass air flow sensor voltage high.

Incidently, I drove 1250 miles with the wrong harness on there and didn't have anymore than a cat full message

Wow, a code free that isn't code free. HMMMM.....That posi-tap will give you problems over time, trust me. Any time you tap a wire like that you will regret it in the long run. Especially if you have never installed a posi-tap.

If you bought a code-free module and you have codes at first during the learning process, how are you suppose to clear them? You'll have to get a programmer or a scan-tool. Seems like this defeats the purpose doesn't it?

I wish you guys the best and I am not saying bad things against BADP, but I wish you guys the best with the problems you are having. I am sure that you will get them straight.

i sent BADP a message sunday night with no answer as of tuesday morning. The whole posi tap thing is kinda dumb, been there done that whole mess. Should just have another female plug built into the harness that does away with the posi tap in my opinion. I still cant believe the amount of smoke this thing makes with a stock truck. EGR still intact though....:RANTIN: cycled the key five times and nothing shows up on the cluster, so i have no clue what the code is????

No one makes the plug you have to have a company mold the plug and it is very expensive and would add alot to the cost of the module so we chose not to do it that way.

Its funny that you will pay $40,000 for a broke truck andthen try every way you can to slam the people that are trying to help you fix it.

You cycle the key three times if you want to check the codes.

Who or what extension did you leave the message at I would like to have a talk with them to see why you did not get a return call.

We have shipped over 200 in the past 2 weeks and the majority of them are working code free and the few that are having problems are being handled.
A positap on a wire will not cause you trouble in the long run its a wire with a needle pierced connection and if everything is not hooked up properly it wont work.
I have a company that will be making the harnesses for us and they will check them on a test bench that we have made so we know that everyone shipped is working fine.
We have found a few boards with bad processors and this will cause the truck to have codes and possible regen due to the box not powering up.
We know the issues we are having and are working hard to get all of these units back to our shop so we can see what caused the problem so we dont have to go through this again.
We cant gaurantee that the egr deletes will not cause trouble with the gen2 we have it on a truck with the egr delete installed and so far no trouble.
The biggest issue we are seeing is people calling saying it is not working when they dont have everything plugged in If you have any plugs left over you didnt do the install right.
We have new instructions that will be finished in the morning one of the members brought to my attention the instructions have the wrong pictures on them and they are very confusing so I had Terry redo them.
We have hired a new shipping manager she has worked for arrowspeed for several years so all of our shipping issues should be resolved very soon. We are trying as hard as we can to get the right people in the right places so we dont have trouble in the future.
If there is any of you that have not been called back send me an email shane@badptrucks.com and I will get back to you ASAP.
Sorry for the trouble

I have to give Shane allot of credit. He is busting his butt to get it right. This system is sophisticated. It's like the first space shuttle flight. What was on paper didn't always work right the first time. Same thing with new car models or our trucks, which is a better example. There are numerous scenerios that the factorys couldn't possibly test. Especially with all the impatient suckers out there.:w:

Don't say it smoke. . . . LOL

No it's not loud at all. It doesn't have high speed harmonics with the stock muffler either.

But it idles like the older diesels did. Slight vibration. That's the way they should be.

Have to say, it makes the truck what it really is. A diesel:thumbsup

Is there a reason his is smoking or is that something in the way the BADP electronics are constructed?
It looks like he still has the EGR intact - mine smoked constantly to the point where I was worried about being pulled over when the EGR was still functioning.

The method used to prevent the regens shouldn't have much impact on the smoke output unless it isn't working and the truck goes into regen with no DPF.

My exsperiance with shane and badp has been great. I recieved a box with a bad processor and three days later I had a new box at my door. This box has not shown any codes since it was installed. I have egr unhooked and that is the only code I get now. Hopefully shane and the guys are working on that.

i left the message at the tech support link on the BADP web site...I looked again this morning and with 175 miles on the delete the back portion of the fender and bumper are getting the black residue...had a powerstroke that did the same thing after a few thousand miles without a wash....

So? With the DPF gone isn't this gonna happen? it's a real diesel again:woot: BADP is busy enough. Leave'em alone so they'll get my code free sent to me:popcorn:

I have the Gen II from BADP, I picked it up ad had it installed at a friends muffler shop in about and hour. Upon start it still showed multiple CEL's. I called BADP and within minutes the tech support guy called me back from his cell and walked me through the process while the truck was still on the rack. (1) I had a bad power connection, (2) the polarity of the 3rd plug was reversed. We resolved these issues and it went from 4 codes to just two. I havent experienced code free yet, but I ran out of time and had to go back overseas. I will say that the guys at BADP are on top of their game in the Customer Service area.... I'm going to resume on the issue when I get back... Thus far I like the sound of the system...

Hi everyone I have been reading your trends for some time now and finally joined to get some help on my truck now i have installed my "code free" BADP dpf delete kit. I am getting alot of codes since i installed my kit on friday. Here is the list I had this morning.... P2A00, P0131, P244A, P061A, and the (P2080, P2084, P242B) that BADP said would show up after the install. I have put on 500 miles since install and the codes keep coming back. Has anyone else had these codes and what do they mean? The truck is stock other then the dpf kit. I ordered the complete egr delete kit from K2 yesterday and never unpluged my egr yet. The check engine light was not on before the install and I had my turbo cleaned 4,000 miles ago. Any help would be great. Thanks for all of the info I have read about on your site. I am happy with the kit other then these codes I have. It seems to have more power and sounds great!
