Ok here are some pics of the switches. I added them with the AlfaOBD but they aren't showing up in the radio but are showing up on the dash screen as "Commercial Settings" and its actually a "second settings Icon" to enter to program the switches. Does anyone like... @Jimmy07 know why they aren't showing up through the 8.4 radio? Also what is the PIN setting on my dash? I just scroll/page through it and leave it at "0000" to gain access to program the switches. I used the KAOdtech security adapter and the AlfaOBD on my Laptop (Windows based) along with the LinkMX bluetooth adapter to add the switches. Should I be doing something differently?

Pin is 0000 by default (what you found). I think that pin is just so fleet owners can keep employees from messing with the switches. Just make sure you write it down if you set it to something else, only way to reset it (supposedly) is by the dealer.

That's badass. Try checking in alfaobd for the setting to add it to the menu in the radio. I know that just because you have the right sales codes or option added wont add them to the radio menu. The radio menu setting and the actual enabling of the switches are two different settings is what I'm trying to say. I havent run into that yet on my 19. But on my 13 there was a few times that I had to enable menu options separately.

I have a 2017 with an 8.4 radio from a 2020 Jeep gladiator installed, and they show up in the radio, but don’t program properly all the time-

There’s another member on another forum I know of that has a 2018 with factory 8.4 radio, added the switches, but can not get the settings to show in the radio. I would be content that it’s up in the cluster commercial settings, and that works all the time.
I’m curious if anybody that has a 2019 with factory switches, if the settings are in the radio for them? @dgiturbo?

My 2018 with the factory aux switches are only configurable from the EVIC, I have no settings in the radio for them.

I added the 4thgenelectronic kit to my 2018 this past weekend and after setting it with alfaOBD it showed up in the Evic but took about a day or a certain amount of key cycles but showed up on my 8.4. I haven't tried to change any setting with the radio but did in the evic!!!

Thank you for the information....I was just wondering if there was a way to get them to show up in the radio. I searched everywhere for a second way of turning them on in the radio and I haven't found any additional ways. I will say that when I program them...mine it holds the setting that I set them to. I'm very thankful that mine are working. When it comes right down to it....it really doesn't matter to me if they are in the EVIC or the Radio...as I'm very thankful they are there and are holding the settings. I still need to get them wired up. I'm still waiting for my power box from 4thgenelectronics. Once again thank you everyone for your input in this thread...I really like it when people come together and pass on their experience in a way to help and benefits everyone that reads this forum. :thanks2:

Yes it is still in the Evic. I haven't checked to see if I can make setting changes in the radio as others have said they didn't take. I did make changes in the Evic which worked good!!

Hey mine just showed up today in the Radio....they are still in the EVIC also. They seem to be holding where I set them.

Checked mine today in the Radio and they will not hold a setting change!! Oh well as long as they work in the Evic is fine as I will not be changing the settings that often!!

@2Good4U when you pulled the 59 Pin connector where exactly was it located? Was it right against the kick panel? Can you give me a description as to exactly where to look or how to get there? Did you pull any kick panel or dash panels off to get to it? When I look under there I have like 3 different connectors that fit the description in my Laramie.

Update.....

I received the switches and installed them. The install was pretty easy except removing the trailer brake was a little difficult but I got it. All of my original switches work with no issues...however..... with the Aux switch panel installed the Auxiliary switches don't light up And they aren't in the settings of the Uconnect 8.4). I'm also set up with the AlfaOBD and I tried to turn them but no success as of yet. I can connect to the truck with AlfaObd for the 2016-2017 year model truck but it doesn't write and turn them on. Has anyone had success with a 2018 or a 2019?

Maybe @Jimmy07 can chime in and give me some pointers? Or do I need to have the switch fully wired under the hood for it to work? I haven't ran the signal wire from the switch panel to the box yet....is this why it won't update and show the switch programming on my 8.4 Uconnect radio?

Did your auxiliary switches ever start lighting up? I installed a switch panel today and i am having the same issue. Everything else works. Thanks

I temporarily hooked up my fuse panel this weekend and it still did not work. I will get everything put together next weekend and will find out for sure whether it works or not.

I did. They showed up in the EVIC and I can make changes. They also appeared later in the radio but I can't make any changes there. Below is what I changed.

Are you running it directly from the switches or are you running it from the 59 way connector as mentioned in this thread? Also what power/fuse box are you using the one that's already in the truck or an aftermarket? I have the wires made with the terminals I need to get the terminals plugged into the 59 way connector.

I created a plug and play harness similar to the 4th gen electronics harness. I was able to track down all of the connectors. So I am running the wiring directly from the switch panel to the fuse box. I am also using an aftermarket fuse/relay box as my Hemi does not have the OEM fuse panel.

There is somebody on another forum that connected at the 59 way connector and wired into the OEM fuse box. His seems to be working fine.

Do you have the CBC Features-Configuration Of Auxiliary PTO menu available in Alfaobd? There may be more work to get the switches to work in 2019 trucks than previous years. I am working with Alfaobd to see if we can get this menu to show up for my BCM in Alfaobdf which may take care of my switch issue. I will update.
