Ac problems please help

im having ac problems last march i bought my truck ac worked great then about a month later it just started blowing hot air wasnt a big deal cause it wasnt too hot yet i tried to add some freon and it took only a little i could here the compressor kicking on and off took it for a drive it worked while i was driving but every light i came too it would blow hot didnt last long. what could be the issue anyone have an idea why the compressor kicks on and off but the gauge reads it is full im lost any help would be great have an 01 by the way

What is high side and low side pressure @ idle with A/C on?

sounds like you have too much freon in there. so if its kickin on and off its because the pressure is unable to drop radically enough to keep it cold on the low side.

If it blows hot at idle your not getting good airflow through your condenser. Try cleaning the radiator and see If that helps.

i had this problem with an old nissan truck i had . it turned out to be a bad expansion valve. the truck would not cool down and the compressor would kick on and off every second or two.if you have good air flow and the compressor is running on and off then i think thats your problem.
