The guy that works on my truck well the only diesel mechaniac I let work on my truck said Cummins valve adj. at 100k. He has never done me wrong. I have 115k on mine and I need to find time to let him do it. $125 is not bad either.

Other then that
Coolant flush
Tranny flush
Front and rear diff
4x4 transfer case
I even went as far a dropping my fuel tank and got it cleaned
and the other basics.

Cummins recommends top end adjustments at 150K miles. Just got mine done at Cummins and it costs about $225. Well worth it, don't hear valves clattering any more.

mechanic buddy of mine at Dodge says 100k. Just got mine done and made a huge difference!

Thats for 12v/24valves, the newer common rail suggests a valve adjustment at 150k... I dont think your mechanic friend has read the newer manual yet.

Anyway cant hurt.

Im ticking close to 90k im gona adjust mine ive heard at 100k also and ive heard they are quiter after getting done

let's see, 100k miles:

new injectors
new transmission
new steering
new ball joints & TREs

that should about cover it. :)

You should probably change the drive belt if you haven't already done so.

What all is involved in the top end adjustment? 116k on mine, runs like a champ. Got a Cummins shop a few miles away though.....

its good to change all your fluids trans, transfer, brake, powersteer, coolant, air filter, diffs, etc. hey do you guys now how to change the "newbie" under my name?

I have a 03 that crossed 200K a little bit ago. We had to do a trans so at the same time we checked the valves along with changing/ flushing all the fluids. Everything was fine minus the trans. My 05 is getting close to 190K. Getting ready to do it as well.
