arent the dashes different ?

 

The plug-ins are the same, but yes, the dash bezels are different. So yes and no.

Yes it will plug in and work

no it will not bolt in and the dash bezel will not fit around it

 

I'm not so sure. The newer ones use the CAN system through the computer to turn on and communicate. I don't think the older ones do, do they? I could be wrong, i've never tried it. But the newer ones have to have a special adapter to plug in an aftermarket stereo because it has to draw 12 volts from elsewhere to power up. Maybe try looking up a wiring adapter for the new radio versus the older truck your putting it in. If your truck adapter is $20 and the adapter for the newer style radio is $100 plus, theres your difference

I've heard it cant be done because of the CAN system and the dash is different.

 

Been there done that I wanted to put a NAV unit in mine but cant.

 

Now it not work because of the wiring or the dash?

 

Both: They had some early or late 05 with NAV but you still need to wire it if your didn't come that way

 

Ah i was wondering cause i got a nav unit laying around here from an 07.

You wanna get rid of the nav unit? Just so happens I have an 07

 

Give me a fair offer. It is missing the the joystick plastic button cover but the joystick function still works. No nav disk.

 

I do radio work and pulled one out of a 07 with navi because he wanted a new one and i sold it on ebay buy it now for 500 and it went instantaneously. Sell it!!!

 

I can't offer you anything close to fair. I was really just kidding. If your gonna try to sell it, I agree to post it on ebay or CL. Somebody is bound to be looking for that exact radio and willing to pay a good amount to get it. I'm broke right now and should probably focus on other mods at the moment. I got too much fuel and not enough turbo...
