Can I do that? Didn't think I could because they have their own guy that does it at lower price

Whatever happens man. I hope this works out for ya. This is thee worst situation possible.
Still curious as to how they cracked the case.
And keep us updated.

I'm using my grandpas 2000 tundra that has 40,000 miles on it cause he never drives it due to medical reasons. I'll keep y'all updated. He said "this is the first ever transmission we've had come back but we will fix it up for you" this was around lunch time.

It's your truck. You took it in for gauges to be installed. During gauge install, they damaged the trans. They "fixed" the trans and it failed.

Yep, I'd say you could.

I'd be very confident a judge would agree.

They messed it up, doesn't matter if they have a guy that does it cheaper or not, they have to fix it. And after this, I wouldn't have any faith at all if I were you...now, you're not going to get a free full billet unit, nor should you. But it needs to be back in the same shape it was when it rolled in their doors.

I'd hate to be in your shoes man, bad spot. Hope it works out.

+1 on having them pay for a shop to fix it. Even if they do get it fixed enough to leave the lot you'll be scared to drive it all the time because of what they did to it the first time. Sounds like something major happened this time too.

It's like it self destructed because I was driving then at around 60mph I heard clunk. Well I wasn't close to home so I tried going again and it wouldn't go above 55. Then two minutes later at 55mph it had 4 more big clunks then the truck wouldn't go above 15 after that. It felt as if I was loosing all my gears.. Well I talked to my dad an he said go ahead an let them do it one more time then if anything happens again we will have them send it to shop of our choice an if they refuse we will get our attorney to get it all worked out.

Your dad's a wise man.

Although I'd still be leery on one more chance, I'd let them try once more. Then if it fails again, things get serious.

Yeah but he is all about 2nd chances. I don't wanna have to drive my truck daily being scared of the tranny going because I travel to Austin an back which is a 3 hour drive each way. I'm just gonna hope for the best. Everything will work its self out. I know they are going to open that transmission an probably crap them selves cause you know it's bad when you can feel a gear go out lol

i guess you can find comfort in knowing that any judge in their right mind will side with you on this.

They just called me and told me the truck is driving fine no problems what so ever.... That can't be right. He said they are gonna have tranny guy come an do diagnostics while truck is driving but if nothing is found then they will be done with it. My dad's contacting the attorney just so the attorney has an idea of what's going on if they say they don't find anything.

dude how are you not in jail right now...

well.... im going to keep my cool till they get back to me again. If they find something odd on the diagnostics while driving it then they will drop the tranny. Thats what I want them to do.. but if they dont idk what ima do cause this just aint right. I will make sure this whole city knows not to go to this damn shop.

While everybody who's read this knows never to go to 4 wheel specialties. Ever.

this is just horrible right now... I cant afford a transmission because of school and im working as much as i can an currently looking for a 2nd job. If I have to purchase a transmission or just get it rebuilt im gonna have to sell this truck because I dont have the funds for this.. just gonna hope for the best I guess

Just take them to small claims court, you'll win hands down if everything you're saying is true. As much as you are trying to be nice to the shop that did the work and give them second chances, at the same time you can't let them walk all over you. Get angry with them, scream, yell, and threaten them with a lawsuit if you have to. Tell them you are going to have the truck transporoted to a professional transmission shop for them to diagnose, and if anything is found wrong they WILL have to pay for the bill or consequences will be taken. Assure them you have spoken to your attorney and have everything documented.

PS. Don't forget to throw in that you will tell your friends, relatives, strangers, dogs, cats, horses, illegal immigrants etc. to never give them business due to there lack of mechanical abilities and you will share your story about the shop all over the internet.

i guess thats how. you are way too calm lol. my dog is cowering in the corner and its not even my truck.
This is the best comment ever. I agree. I would be back on probation if this my my truck. Good luck buddy. I always say. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice ..... O wait there anit no fool me twice go F yourself!!!! Seriously I hope it works out for you though.

What I'm going to do is say "so y'all say this transmission is perfectly fine then?" When they say yes ima say "ok I'm taking it to greatstate transmission for it to be completely looked over and if anything is wrong y'all will need to pay for it" an if they refuse I'm gonna get attorney involved
