The new UConnect radios in the Grand Cherokee and Chargers have Android Auto and Apple Car Play. I was wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on one and tried retrofitting it into a truck yet? Maybe easy, especially if the screens are the same size as the 8.4" touch screens in the upper trim packages. Possibly plug and play like the upgrade from the smaller radios to the 8.4 is.

Yeah, I played with it on the ford's and it was nice having Google maps on the 8.4.

Some on this forum have purchased and installed this, to get Android Auto on their Ram 8.4 systems. I have been tempted, but it's pretty spendy and it is stuck running a fairly old version of the Android OS.

Still, it's the only option I have seen so far to bring Android Auto to our older 8.4 systems.

My hope is that the 2018 or 2019 trucks will come with the new uconnect and we can buy the upgraded radios for our trucks. As far as I'm concerned that'd be the only reason to upgrade from a 16, and if I can just get the radio it would be A+

I have 2019 Ram Laramie 2500 with Uconnect 4C. Can anyone advise me how to change the tune steps on AM and FM. At the moment the AM is changing in Steps of 10 and FM is in steps of .2

When close to the radio station it works but as soon as you get a few miles from the transmitter the sound deteriorates and is distorted.

Also I can’t get a Samsung 10 to mirror. The carplay gives an error message saying software didnt pass Android auto security checks.
