WIF sensor wiring

So I added a severe duty filter and deleted the factory filter. I cut the plug for the heater and wired it to the new heater then tried the same with the WIF. Purple/green to the 2 post on the new plug which I think is ecm sender. Then the red and white to the 1 spot which I believe is the sensor return.
Now my WIF light stays on and throws a P3222 code. I know WIF light is kinda unnecessary if you check your filter regularly but I’d still like to make it work. Any advice if thanked in advance

You are right.:wink2:

The return/sensor ground goes back to ECM, not a chassis ground. :wink2:

Are the two wire hooked up to a new WIF sensor that come with your new setup?

Its possible that the sensor is telling ECM that there is water in fuel.

The sensor is just a resister that the resistance will change when there is water in fuel.
You may be able to fool the ECM by playing with a variable resister in the position of the sensor.:wink2:

Yea everything is hooked up and spliced in. I have clean fuel it never set off the original one. Only thing I can guess is there must be something on the sensor or it’s not reading resistance right
