Ok so I definitely blew the plastic end out of my crappy stock intercooler on my 05 at the drags this weekend and am looking to buy an aftermarket one now. I need one for the lowest price out there please. I'm not set on any brand in particular but need one relatively soon. Need one thats best bang for your buck.

Wondering what people are having the best luck with

if you know a good dealer, HTT can be about the most affordable.......... many deals on them in the classified lately, I have one on the way from a memeber right now, should be here tomorrow, but if ya need new....... ya gotta look for a dealer and talk to them for the best prices.

The HTT has the highest published/advertised flow rate @ 1635 CFM & there priceing seems to be less that the other intercoolers out also. Im looking in to theres for my 2nd gen.

All I did was buy a IC out of a newer model yr. that is all alum., mine came out of a '06 and does the job for me, plus I only paid $225 shipped.

Im new to this site but im running a HTT on my truck that I got from Mid Atlantic Diesel 240-818-2973. He is a hard guy to get ahold of but he has good prices and will take care of you.

Isnt the AFE one WAY expensive? Iv seen it in person & it is a beautiful pice but the price that was said seemed way to high, But I could be wrong.

The AFE isn't that expensive, mine was $1350.

I dont think you can go wrong with any- $$$$ is the main issue
INFO I WAS SENT------

Flow wise the BD was the best but it had the WORST heat rejection rate, so bad in fact the air coming out of it was hotter then the stock CAC. This is because it's got big open tubes but there's nothing in them to take the heat away.

The AFE CAC actually had the worst flow rating of the group, around the stock CAC's level, but it had the BEST cooling ability of the group. The only problem was that it has so many fins on the core it cut the airflow to the radiator by 33%! In other words the radiator is getting 33% less air then before AND it's hotter air.

I do have an 06 (metal) stock intercooler for sale- lol
I would find it VERY hard to believe the AFE cut flow by 33%. Also, you say it has the best cooling ability of the group, but you also say "it's hotter air"??

What diff. do you guys (with the aftermkt ic) in temps see?? Is there that much of a diff. from a stock all alum. ic to the a.markt one, besides size wise.

I've talked around and there was a few that said they wish they never bought/spent that kind of money for only 50* diff. and never really seen any benefit to the $$$$ value. Like the above ic splitting open, there were some that had that happen to them.
Then I heard some have went back to the stock ic (all alum.-'06 ^^).

All I know is that my truck runs pretty good with what I have. I want more power now though, I got it to hook up pretty good and now it's time to upgrade for bigger twins to see if I can keep it hooked up.

Hey jsf350 how much are you asking for stock alum intercooler???? shoot me pm with price and number to get hold you at

You read my post earlier, right?? I just have a ic from a '06 and my truck runs just fine. My stock ic had plastic tanks and didn't want to blow them off (or take a chance of it).

If you want to have the brightness look of an after market, remove the paint and polish it. I started to and decided that my grill hides it, so I painted flat black (high temp).

If you want to spend the money for an aftermarket that really doesn't do anything more than the stock one (that is if you're under 900hp) then go for it. It only cost me $225 for mine and I spent the saved money on other go fast goodies.

Yeah I'm at 7oohp or close to it. And I bought the new one, because I popped the plastic end tanks on my 05. I got such a good deal it was worth it for me for future upgrades. My buddy who has an 03 runs almost 900hp on his stock aluminium intercooler.
