The upper control arm on my first gen has the threads stripped for the ball joint and I'm trying to find a new control arm but I can't find it. Does anyone know where they sell them or do you just have to find a used one? Thanks.

Where to by upper control arm?
I purchased the entire front cross member from a guy that salvages these trucks. That worked out best. If you need just the arm(s), I'm sure you could locate some , but you'd have to go to the right source. Most salvage yards don't carry vehicles this old. You may have to locate a fellow member who is parting one out.
I'm having the same issue. Just re-did my front end parts on my 1st gen and something got lodged between my brake caliper and upper control arm on the driver's side and popped my ball joint right out of it's socket. Just noticed it today. Plus, it broke the small rim that's around the ball joint once it's set in its socket. I'm having a hard time looking for a replacement control arm. So if you have any more suggestions, it'd be greatly appreciated.
