on my 05 I just turn cruise on and the press set and it idles up and can adj it with the cruise increase controls

 

Bigdan is correct. Do you have the high idle enable from the dealer or with a programmer? I had to have the dealer turn my high idle on.

 

It all depends on whether your truck is programed with that feature, and if you have an auto or a manual trans. If you have a manual trans there are a few extra things you have to do to get the PTO High Idle to work. I have done a nice write up on it if you are interested, PM me.

 

I bet the feature isn't turned on. I have the auto tranny. truck is completely stock..no programmers ect. Do I have to go to the dealer to do this?

 

Yea, you'll have to go to the dealer to have it enabled. While in Park start the truck, turn the cruise on and then hit the set button. Truck should idle up to 1100RPM. if you hold the ACCL/Resume button the truck will idle up to 1500RPM. If your truck won't do this then go to the dealer and tell them you want the PTO high idle turned on.

The easier way is find someone with a S06 Smarty and have them load any level of the smarty software and then put the truck back to stock. All smarty softwares including the stock software has the PTO High Idle enabled. This is you cheapest route because the dealer may charge you an hours worth of work. Heck if I lived closer I'd load my smarty software on your truck for you, but It's a long drive from Michigan to North Carolina.

 

On my 04 I turn on cruise and then hit set 2 times.
