I got an 02 with Edge juice with attitude and AFE intake. I want to put 90 injectors and a FASS fuel pump on can my stock turbo handle this for a while??

you'll have to watch your exhaust temps and PSI but you should be ok til you can get a bigger one

Keep it under 35 psi and under 1450 egt's. My truck in my sig will hit 1400 and 33 psi on level one on the edge.

not with the hy35. at 35psi it is overspun. keep it at or under 32psi.

same here. Im not sure of what injectors i have but i imagine they are around 90 horse. it depends on your elevation as well, Lil' red and I are at 5000' plus elevation so it will run richer. I drag 17,000 lbs behind me and i can get them up there pulling summits, just have to downshift.
elevation will not change your mixture when your at max boost. the turbo might have to work a little harder to get to whatever your max is but if you are runing 35psi at 0' elevation and still 35psi at 5000' then your motor cant tell the difference because it still see's the same pressure in the intake manifold. but if your turbo is working too hard and is overspun at that elevation then it is making too much heat and you are losing pressure and ya you will be running richer. but i dought you would notice. mabe a little more haze out the exhaust.

Well you think if I ever try pulling anything will be incapable of keeping the EGT's down or no

I pull a 32ft 5er from time to time that weighs around 15000lbs. and can keep them in check. Just have to pay attention.

Alright so then with that kinda set up what kinda turbo should I start looking for and what were some prices u know of or paid....

that all depends on your budget and where you want to go with the truck. i dont think you will notice much difference with a 90hp injector. i would go with a 150 wail you are doing it so you only have to spend the money once. as far as turbo you can go with an he351, super b...it really depends on how much you want to spend.

Does the Juice de-fuel at high exhaust temperatures if you install a pyrometer??

#13 ·
Yes it does. Mines gives a worning chirp at 1440 and then defuels at 1450. Its a good thing too since I'm not smart enough to get my foot out of it.

yeah I got all the systems on my chip set low like the egts and fuel pressure to start defueling. Pretty much all i want of my truck is a player, tower, and smokebomb. There was a truck in diesel power over the winter of a black dually they took and made it into a tower and thats what i want. I thought of going 150 but everyone is different and iv heard more people say there isnt that much difference between the two. as far a budget goes it is pretty limited i just kinda go piece by piece lol

Yeah see i wont go over 1250. if i see 13 im off the gas. but i start defueling right now cuz of fuel pressure more than anything. that er will hit 0 if i want it too

It's an auto. I replaced the HY with an HX from a 99 I had laying around.

I have sustained more than 1400 for over a minute pulling hills with this truck and with my old 97 and no problems.

#19 ·
ok i didnt know that...yes you are good up to 35psi of boost and 1400 is warm but it can do it.

#20 ·
dont bother with injectors small than 150's its not worth it

#21 ·
:ditto: :agree2: im thinking either ddp150 or 200's. i dont know if i want to 200 and i do want the claimed 2-3mpg increase. so i will cross that bridge when it comes.

i pulled a 94 chevy 3/4 ton on a flat steel trailer with lots o hills about 30 miles with the truck in my sig, egts were no higher than 1100 max on the biggest hills and my boost was max 32 psi and i have an HY. as long as you drive right and monitor your truck your all good
