.010 intake .018 exhaust and the valve cover gasket is reusable

 

Factory is 10 int, 20 ex.

Yes. The valve cover gasket can be reused several times...

As for valve adjustment I'm running 0.008 (Intake) 0.018 (Exhaust)...

 

This is a great write up use it when I did mine, YES the Gasket is reusable NO sealer, it is a rubber compound, many have had off many times.

 

When I took my truck to the dealer for issues I couldn't figure out, they ran the valves just for kicks and told me that in 01 they went to a "low maintenance" valve system and my valves havent moved since it left the line. :confused013:

 

Well they are still Mechanical Valves, and the adjustment screw and nut are still there and mine were a little loose at 240K, so it worth the effort.

 

i also have mine at .008I and .018E

 

did my i intake at 10 and exhaust at 20 and the dot on the valve bridges can go either way
