Im in the process of doing a second gen swap, I have future upgrades coming with time. In time, I plan on sending my injectors to extruded to get 30% over, cam, and 30% over cp3. Im trying to hold off, for tranny for next summer. What would be a good turbo to get? Holding off on putting the HE351 back on, might put it up for sale to recoupe some money for the buy. Input is appreciated.

You might want to do your research on cp3's before you buy something that says %... For the turbo... We need to know what you want to do with the truck and if you tow at all...

I don't think I will tow with it, just for DD. If I do tow it would be once in a blue moon. Oh yea, 425s are next after my turbo choice. On the cp3 I was going to go with Motorsport(wickeds) figured if I was buying the arson kit, might if well go 30 over.

I'm prob going with 181. And on the studs ill have them in by thanksgiving, that's when I'll ship my injectors off for honing. Might go the cam at the same time. Just to cut down on downtime.

if its just a daily driver i would recommend a 63/68/14......i have one and i absolutely love it....my injectors are 30% over and they light it at about 1500-1550 rpms on a hot tune and it pulls hard all the way through.....but with a cam you could probably pull off a 64/71/14 like a super b special and not have to worry too much about lag. Depends how far you really wanna go with the truck. if your gonna put a cam and headstuds u might as well put some stiffer valve springs to prevent valve float at higher rpms.

No power level, I just paid of the pickup. And like to modify it now. When I call or look for a turbo. Do I just ask for numbers or are there names for them.

You need to have a goal... You cant just pick any turbo.... For example you don't want a 80mm if you only want 600hp... You need to come up with a goal or plan and stick to it... If you don't you will end up buying over and over again until you get something that works... Throwing parts at something and hoping they work together isn't a plan.

Goal... I'll say 500hp, I will never know. There is no dyno near me, to tell you the truth my rear axle would probably never see the rollers, or the track. These are the parts I'm going to replace. And like you say you can't just throw parts at for turbos. I'm asking to see what turbo would be good with the modifications.

What are you going to use for tuning? With the cam I would probably go with the Super B special... Its a 64mm turbo that would give you some room to grow into as well... Depending on the injectors actual size and a quality cp3 upgrade you could easily see 600+hp if you wanted... I would look into Efi live for tuning if you haven't already.

Honestly, efi and a stock turbo, stock injectors, and stock cp3 will get you to 500 hp. Take 06s advice. He has done this many times. Get a goal. You need to read on here till your sick of reading for a month, then read that much again. It's not worth trying to rush it and jump in on everyone's recommendations. Only you know what you want to spend and if your going with 30% over injectors and a stroker pump from Shane you will have the fuel for solid 600hp, as long as you replace your lift pump too.

Do yourself a favor and read about others setups and get an idea of exactly how much hp each part can support, then how much you want to spend and go from there. Your stock lift pump will only be good for about 500hp and if you don't replace it you should even waste the time upgrading the rest of your list cause stock sized parts will get you where you want to go.

Not trying to sound like a (butt) just my honest advice to keep you from spending more than you need. I've read tons and when I started I knew next to nothing. I now have a very good idea of what I want my truck to do, and the parts it will take to get it there, even tho I'm not entirely decided yet.
