Trying to get to 600hp

I have an ‘02 still running the stock vp44, injectors, and air box but I already did a borg Warner SXE 364, 4” exhaust, banks intake horn, rebuilt the trans to handle 1000hp+, 150gph FASS, quadzilla adrenaline running the v2 tuning, and a Yukon rear end with 4.10’s. I’m looking for suggestions on what to do next to get her to 600 and still keep the reliability built in.

How big are your injectors? Specs on the s364?

Edit: I misread your post. You’re running stock injectors? That must suck. You need something in the neighborhood of 200s for that charger. 7x0.011 or 7x0.012. That will definitely get you closer to your goal. If your s364 has the 68mm turbine wheel then you’re not gonna get 600 out of it

It's been a long time since I've messed with 2nd Gen performance stuff(I miss these trucks big time though) but I'd say a quality 6x0.13 injector is what you need as far as injectors. For the turbo, I don't know enough about the SXEs on 2nd gens to give any real info there. I do know that the small framed SXEs have been pushed beyond what non SXE chargers of the same dimensions have. In most cases I believe well beyond. Years ago, after my Redline box was stolen I made 516 rwp on a SO VP44, 6x0.16 injectors, s366, and a borrowed Smarty for the dyno event. So you may be closer than you think. I'm guessing you haven't dyno'd the truck yet?

I haven’t dynod her yet but based on what I’m supposed to be getting out of the quadzilla plus a little from the turbo I’m gonna guess I’m somewhere around 450-500 but I’m not sure. I’m thinking a set of 125hp DDP ISBXX injectors and the industrial injection hot rod pump then an afe intercooler should help a little so my egts don’t get outrageous

I was planning on doing the pump because mine is still the factory pump and I know for a fact that it’s seen < 3 psi feed pressure before because the original owner did a pump relocation but the damn thing wasn’t pushing much fuel, that’s why I did the 150gph fass. That being said I’m a little scared of it just falling on its face. Haven’t done head studs yet. Was planning on doing them when I did injectors since I’ll be tearing into stuff anyway.

please skip the DDP injectors. You are having to run a METRIC F-TON of duration to get that turbo going.

Get a set of quality 6 x .013's and you wont need to command so much duration to hit your goals.

you willhave less egt and better power.

Dont bother with a hot rod pump, run your pump tell it dies and replace it with another SO pump. All that market intake / intercooler etc is just shiney stuff that doesn't help with your goals. The stock system is %100 fine for 600 hp.

I'd discourage stormins advice on DAP vp's. I've gone threw 2 and they just barely make it out if warranty and fail. This time around I didnt cheap out and got a blue chip pump, its miles better than daps pumps. I've been there done that, dap sucks for pumps, and there injectors are mediocre at best. But they'll work.

Blue chip has less than a 2% failure rate, all new & upgraded components as well.
I contacted dap my after 2nd failure and asked for the truth on there pumps, they are deceiving everyone in there item description. They dont put new computers in with 0 heat cycles. They put in used parts. As a result I've got threw 2 pumps from dap in the last 2 years. They just barely make it out of warranty and fail.
Now I've got a 3 year warranty and can use a stealth cover to. Dap doesn't allow that on there 2 year warranty pumps. They put a lacquer in the threads, they'll know if you try to "tap" the pump. Blue chip on the other hand sells a tamper proof torx. They encourage you to enjoy and depend on there products. Nuff said.

DAP uses a few different builders for VP's, they dont build pumps in house as they do not have a 815 test bench. So "they" as in DAP doesn't have anything to do with what parts are used. Neither does blue chip.

I have seen 3 blue chip pumps fail in a row and then they refused to make it right and blamed the truck, and yes they were the expensive pumps from blue chip.

Point is blue chip is no better than any of other reseller of reman pumps. They all have their failures. buy a VP44 from the cheapest place you can, as long as they use one of the builders below and has a warranty.

We only know of a handful of 815 benches, if you don't have a 815 bench you can't rebuild a vp44 in house.

To date we know of 9 in the states

Rebuilt SOVP from Midwest Fuel Injection installed in 11/2008-still in service, pump wire connected 10 months later and still connected.

Arp Headstuds 100%

I vote against DAP injectors. I had one crack. Apparently I was *just* out of the warranty .

It cracked when I was on vacation out of country on a long weekend it’s a bad time trust me

I would say get infinite performance injectors.

All you guys arguing about VP44’s. Its a waste of typing. They are all going to fail eventually. They are garbage. You all know it

I'm another guy that had... not the best deal from my blue chip pump. Stock sovp died(computer toast), I replaced it with a buddies stock sovp, got 2 years out of it and made 618-628 hp on a few dif dyno's. When that pump died (computer again) I decided to spend the money and got a blue chip pump. Problem was, it was like it was governed. The VP was the only thing I changed from one dyno event to the next, but I only made 450 hp.
Tons of research was done, talked to blue chip, replaced my TPS, took off the stealth plate and tapped straight to the wire, triple checked the tap etc etc... Anyways through the next year I ran on 3 dif dyno's and made 445-455 hp on every one.
So I said F THIS and P pump swapped it. Took the SOVP to a buddy with a bench after, and it passed all tests with flying colors.

What I'm getting to is same as @me78569 said, its a VP44. Fingers crossed every time buying/using one from anyone.

As for your 600hp goal, I broke 600 with FASS 150, Mach 6 injectors ("modified 7x10" rated 220's), 362 over s475 and Edge juice.
Get head studs and some '200 hp' injectors, 6x12 6x13 7x12 something in there and I think youll be there.

I am sorry you had a problem with VP44 pump. Our VP44 builder supplies almost half the nation and we have been working with them for 10+ years. They have been a good supplier. We don't mark up the pumps much at all. The 2 year warranty pumps all have new PSG.

We have sold thousands and thousands of nozzles and have had only 3x cracked nozzles (DAP, Bosch, Denso) I am aware of and we worked to help get it taken care of.
